Police looking for a man missing from an Oxford hospital have advised anyone who sees him not to approach him.

Ian McLean, also known as Ian Mitchell, was last seen at 22:00 BST on Monday by staff of Littlemore Hospital.

The 44-year-old has a skull and crossbones tattoo on the right side of his neck and a swallow on the right side of his face.

Officers said hospital staff were concerned for his welfare and believe he may have travelled to the Midlands.

Mr McLean is about 5ft 8in, of slim build with cropped light brown hair and clean shaven.

He also has tattoos coverings his arms and speaks with a Midlands accent.

The public is advised not to approach Mr McLean themselves, but to contact police directly to report any sightings.

He has links to Milton Keynes and the Midlands, particularly Birmingham, Mansfield and Nottingham and police believe he may be headed in that direction from Oxford.
