CCTV footage shows missing student Yulia Solodyankina in Glasgow

CCTV footage that shows a missing Russian student at Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow has been released by police.

It is the last confirmed sighting of Yulia Solodyankina, 22, who was seen at 16:55 on Friday 7 June.

She is seen walking into the central concourse after getting off a bus from Edinburgh and walking into a newsagent.

She remains in the shop for about a minute before emerging.

She looks over both shoulders as she walks through the bus station and beneath a sign highlighting the information desk, and out of view.

Fluent English

Miss Solodyankina had travelled to Glasgow on a Citylink bus from Edinburgh, which left St Andrews Square bus station in Edinburgh at about 15:25.

Prior to boarding the bus she was seen on CCTV in South Bridge at 14:50, before walking into North Bridge, past the Balmoral Hotel into Princes Street.

She was then seen on CCTV in Multrees Walk, before arriving at the bus station.

The footage shows her wearing a dark coat with belt, dark shoulder bag, a red and orange coloured scarf, grey trousers, and brown shoes with white laces.

Miss Solodyankina speaks fluent English with a strong Russian accent, and is described as 5ft 6ins tall, with a small mole on her left cheek.

Ch Insp Mark Patterson, from Police Scotland, said: "The CCTV footage confirms that Yulia was in Buchanan Street bus station at 16:55 on Friday 7 June, and we continue to carry out inquiries to establish her movements after this point.

"We know that she travelled to Glasgow on a Citylink bus that left St Andrew Square bus station in Edinburgh earlier that afternoon, and we would appeal to any passengers who had contact with Yulia during that bus journey to come forward.

"Likewise we would appeal to anyone else who has seen or heard from Yulia since she was last seen in Buchanan Street to contact us immediately."
