Howe set for 'surreal' landmark
Football
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits it feels 'surreal' that he will be taking charge of his 300th game as a manager when they play Millwall on Saturday.
Howe, who will also celebrates his 37th birthday on the same day, first became Cherries boss in January 2009 and saved them from relegation from the Football League.
Since then he has led the club to two promotions in two different spells.
"It seems really surreal," Howe told BBC Radio Solent. "It feels like it was yesterday when I took my first game."
Jermaine Jenas Q&A
Football
A little more from BBC Sport's new pundit Jermaine Jenas, who pays a lovely tribute to the late, great Sir Bobby Robson with the answer to this question.
Paul Davis: Would it be fair to say given your obvious talent you have under achieved?
JJ: Yes and no. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy with what I've achieved as a player, but I understand that at the start of my career it was a bit of a whirlwind and people were asking "what is this kid going to go on and achieve?"
Getty ImagesCopyright: Getty Images
Losing Bobby Robson, for me, was bigger than people think. He really understood me as a player - when I needed a rest, when I needed to go back home or when to play me, when not to play me and how to play me.
He had the exact formula for what I needed to go on and develop as a player and it was kind of going back to square one in my mind. It shook me a little bit and I took the chance to go to Spurs.
The shock of a death in sport

Prompted by the death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, BBC chief sports writer Tom Fordyce has written about why a loss of life in sport hits us so hard.
"Young men of 25 die every day - in crashed cars, on battlefields, in cancer wards," Fordyce writes.
"When it happens in a sporting arena it is no more tragic, but its impact is both more universally felt and somehow far more shocking."

Jack Fairclough: What was the mood like at training following the infamous 'Dyer v Bowyer' Incident?
JJ: That was one of the weirdest incidents I came across at Newcastle because really there was no issue between Kieron and Lee at all. It was just a shock.
A lot of the players were angry because we went down to nine men for a large part of the game and lost the match (to Aston Villa). A lot of the guys were like "if you want to fight, let's have it now, get at it now".
But I think it was just a really crazy moment in their careers and they were both really ashamed of it.
Afterwards they obviously had a bit of a photo op and a smile and put it to bed and that was it. There was no animosity in training. Put to bed. Game over.

Difficult time for Lambert
Football
PACopyright: PA
Radio West Midlands' Mike Taylor on Roy Keane's departure for Aston Villa: "Keane's time at Villa has been unusual. There have been more questions than answers.
"Was he being prepared to usurp Lambert if Villa's struggles of last season continued? How much was Villa's good start - which quickly evaporated - down to him? Could he fully commit to Villa while continuing a similar role with Ireland? Was he going to end up in the jungle anyway?
"His circus leaves town at a particularly tense moment. In a near half-empty Villa Park on Monday night, Lambert appeared short of friends. He is now also short of a senior assistant just as Villa, without a win in eight matches, and faces four matches in a fortnight - all against fellow strugglers."

Jermaine Jenas Q&A
Football
Put to bed. Game over.

Micah Richards, now 26, added: "I believe I was brought through too young. I was brought through at 18. Just 18. I had a couple of good seasons with City but positionally I wasn't good enough.
"These are things you don't say at the time because you are getting your chance.
"Sometimes, when English players do well at a young age, they get thrown in straight away and get spat back out three of four years later.
"That is the problem that we have. If you put me in an England shirt now, I would be 10 times better than I was when I was 19."
'We hype up youngsters too much'

Manchester City defender Micah Richards, on loan at Fiorentina, has given a fascinating interview to Football Focus, which you can watch on BBC One on Saturday at 12:10 GMT.
He believes the English have a habit of hyping up young players and expecting too much, too soon.

"Sometimes England think 'let's bring in the young new player' and hype them up," he said.

Difficult time for Lambert
Football
