Syria conflict: Assad father statue decapitated

Amateur footage has been posted online showing the apparent decapitation of a statue of the former Syrian president Hafez al-Assad.

The video, which cannot be independently verified, is said to have been filmed on Friday, and shows people cheering as the statue is attacked.

The head is then removed, and thrown into the crowd.
