Obama heckled over closure of Guantanamo Bay

US President Barack Obama has been heckled over his failure to close the Guantanamo Bay prison by a member of the audience during a national security speech.

The interruption came as he announced the appointment of envoys at the departments of state and defence to focus on transferring detainees to other countries. Mr Obama also lifted a moratorium on sending detainees to Yemen.

Mr Obama's heckler, identified as 60-year-old Medea Benjamin, is a political activist and founder of anti-war organisation Code Pink.
