California wildfires: Thousands forced to evacuate

Thousands of holiday campers and nearby residents have been forced to evacuate the mountains of Santa Barbara County, California.

The fire broke out in the White Rock camping area of Los Padres National Forest but spread quickly due to heavy winds.

Helicopters were used to fight the fire by dumping water at hot spots.

An evacuation centre has been set up by the American Red Cross at Santa Barbara City College.
