  47. Mayor's put himself at the 'centre of the Conservative campaign'

    Karl Mercer

    Political Correspondent at Conservative

Recent polling has put Labour between 12-14 % ahead of the Tories in the capital, and there are around half a dozen key marginals here that could prove crucial in deciding which party has the most seats come 8 May.

The Mayor has put himself at the centre of the Conservative campaign, having won two elections here himself.

    Boris Johnson

He will spearhead the Tory drive to hold on to what they've got, and attack the Lib Dems in the Southwest of the capital - but what if the Conservatives don't gain any extra seats here? Will the mayor take the blame? He wouldn't be drawn on that one. For the latest election news visit the BBC's Election 2015 website.
