Texting at the wheel: driver reacts to 'heartbreaking' story

A driver promises to stop using his mobile phone whilst driving after hearing a woman who was hit by a car talk about her "ruined" life.

Imogen Cauthery was"simply crossing the road" at 9-years-old when she was hit by a driver who was on his mobile phone.

Her accident has caused her "horrible" and "humiliating" health problems including epilepsy, learning difficulties and cognitive disorders.

Simon from Leeds contacted 5 live Breakfast after hearing Imogen's "heartbreaking" story saying, "it shook me to the core".

The driver admitted to using his phone at the wheel "without a second thought" but said "it's the very last time I'll ever do that".
