Reading Festival's organisers have confirmed DJ Evian Christ will not be performing this year.

It's after he said he was "put in a cage" at the Leeds leg of the festival.

The DJ, who collaborated with Kanye West on his Yeezus track I'm In It, tweeted that he had been held by security after they mistook him for a regular festival-goer.

Organisers told us Rustie will play a longer set on the Radio 1 dance stage at Reading.

It's unclear how long the Ellesmere Port-based DJ and producer was held and there's been no word from organisers on what happened in Leeds.

He was plucked from relative obscurity by Kanye when he was asked to help produce the track Yeezus track.

DJ Evian Christ, whose real name is Joshua Leary, said he was accused of breaking into the festival.

"Really though actually got put in a cage at a festival headlined by Mumford and Sons because the festival staff didn't believe I was a DJ and thought I was 'trying to break into the festival' after my set," he posted.

He said he had been given a sticker to identify himself, but security told him "anyone could have found it and put it on".

He said they then they took the sticker from him before locking him up.
