As EastEnders celebrates its 30th anniversary this week by going live, one character will be live tweeting throughout the week during some of the live elements of each episode.
Himesh Patel will be making UK soap history as his character, Tamwar, will be sending various tweets live throughout the week. Fans will have to keep an eye out to see exactly what Tamwar will be sharing and when via the official EastEnders Twitter page. The posts will also be shared on Facebook.
Himesh Patel says: “Tweeting in character is a first for me – but I think I know Tamwar well enough and I’m looking forward to giving the world his unique perspective on things as they unfold.”
EastEnders will also be marking this iconic occasion by streaming exclusive, live Facebook Q&A webcasts at Elstree studios following Tuesday and Thursday's episodes which is a first for BBC television.
