I know this is stating the incredibly obvious but Juventus are a cracking team. Easy on the eye, not like some Italian sides of times gone by. Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba play pass-the-parcel down the left, picking triangles and stretching the Real side before Pogba's cutback is hastily cleared. Next goal is massive.

There's no defensively-minded player in the Real Madrid midfield and it leaves them very vulnerable. If Juventus get past one man they're basically in on goal every time and Carlos Tevez misses the chance to send Alvaro Morata clean through on goal. He can't get his head up to spot the pass and Isco tracks back to foul Tevez - booking.

So much quality on display in these Champions League semi-finals. Plonk Isco in 97.5% of sides in Europe and he would be carried off after every game like some sort of Hollywood hero. Put him in the Real Madrid midfield and sometimes you forget he's even playing. He reminds me with a majestic touch to beat a man on the edge of the box before clipping a lovely disguised chip onto the roof of the net. Almost a sensational goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now had 54 direct free-kick attempts this season by the way - they've produced only one goal! Rubbish.

Paul Pogba has been fairly quiet so far but he briefly shows what he's all about, hurdling a challenge and then effortlessly covering 30 yards of turf. The Patrick Vieira comparisons are apt.

Juve keep the momentum going and Arturo Vidal lashes in a low shot which forces Iker Casillas into a diving save. An away goal would leave Real Madrid needing two to take us to extra-time.

Karim Benzema! I'll give 10/10 for approach play, it's a 3/10 for the finish though. The Frenchman juggles a bouncing ball brilliantly with his back to goal, flicks it over his head but then sees the headlines, gets a rush of blood to the head and slashes a shot over the bar.

Lovely touch though. First part was Frank Worthington, second part Frank Gallagher. Great start to the game.

The Italian was reported by referee Carlos Clos Gomez for sarcastically applauding the officials at the end of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Valencia.

The result, which left Real four points behind Barcelona in La Liga, all but ended their title hopes.

It means Ancelotti, 55, is banned from sitting on the bench for his side's final two games of the season.

Most of the Real fans are still outside after that huge reception for the team's coach but those who are inside make plenty of noise as Gareth Bale and his team-mates emerge for a warm-up.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has told Gareth Bale's agent to "stay quiet" after he suggested the forward's team-mates did not pass to him enough.

Jonathan Barnett claimed the 25-year-old Welshman is suffering because of a lack of help from other Real players.

This year the Welshman has managed 13 goals in 30 league games, and two in the Champions League. Hardly a disaster - but the fans have not been happy with him.

In March his car was attacked after a lacklustre display in El Clasico defeat by Barcelona.

Robert Judd: Think Bale is at his best when he feels he is the talisman. I'm sure Tottenham or Southampton would like to take him back, but honestly I can't see him leaving Madrid, as the only clubs that could afford his transfer fee probably don't want him, need him or could find an adequate substitute.

Simon Dean: Next season, he won't be going anywhere but he will be gone to Bayern the season after.

The mathematicians at Uefa have been busy doing their sums to provide us with the following stat.

Over the past 60 years, 157 teams have won the first instalment of a European Cup game 2-1 at home, as Juve did last week. Eighty (51%) subsequently progressed to the next round; on the other 77 occasions (49%) the beaten side recovered to go through.

This game is very much in the balance.

We may get a first in the Champions League tonight - a cooling break in each half!

It may be only just about warm enough in England to take your big coat off, but it's scorching in Madrid.

Juventus have requested cooling breaks from Uefa and it all depends on the weatherman.

If the temperature was 32C or higher 90 minutes before kick-off (about half an hour ago) then we will have a break in each half to allow the players to take on water after 30 and then 75 minutes.

I've no idea whether it was or not. Not much help there.

We saw this happen during last summer's World Cup, with the game between the Netherlands and Mexico the first to benefit.

Real Madrid may have been second best in Turin last week but their away goal scored by - who else? - Cristiano Ronaldo means that a 1-0 win will be enough for them to reach a 14th European Cup final.

But Carlo Ancelottti has struggled for central midfielders since losing Luka Modric to injury, with central defender Sergio Ramos filling in to, er, mixed reviews.

In the battle against Atletico Madrid in the last round he was a combative figure they needed. In Turin last week he was shown up at times, outclassed, outgunned and outmanoeuvred by Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo. And Juve have got Paul Pogba back tonight too.

Oh, and Real's go-to central midfielder, Toni Kroos, is struggling with an injury too...

But Kroos is fit to start tonight, and Ramos has retreated to the sanctuary of a back four. Can Real turn this one around?

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri tweeted earlier today: "We're 95 minutes away from Berlin. Nobody expected this opportunity for Juventus."

Spanish newspaper Marca calls for Real to "make history". A first ever Barcelona v Real Champions League final would be a pretty tasty prospect.

Last week it was Carlos Tevez doing the damage, the former Manchester City and United striker hurting Real Madrid with a brilliant performance in a 2-1 Juve win in Turin.

He set up the opener for ex-Real striker Alvaro Morata and then won a penalty with a solo run form his own half, which he then converted. Tevez is in the form of is life. An away goal tonight would put Juve in with a great chance of reaching the final in Berlin...

It could be a pivotal night for Real Madrid.
