The WW2 resistance fighters reunited by chance in a care home

Andrew Borowiec and Ted Stopczynski fought in the Warsaw Uprising as teenagers. Now - 71 years later - they are living in the same Devon retirement home.

They said they "wouldn't have recognised each other" in the street, and that it was "quite an adjustment" to see each other again.

On the first of August 1944, resistance fighters in Warsaw rose up against German occupying forces. Two hundred thousand people died in the following 63 days in what became known as the Warsaw Uprising.
