Zambian Author Namwali Serpell Wins 2015 Caine Prize
It's often referred to as the 'Booker' equivalent for African writing, now this year's winner of the Caine Prize literary award has just been announced in London. That winner is Zambia's Namwali Serpell and she won best original short for her story entitled "The Sack". The award has helped previous winners significantly raise their literary profiles and has landed Namwali some $15,000 in prize money.
