400 Pieces of Edith Piaf
This year is the centenary of the birth of Edith Piaf, the French singer, famous for her tiny stature and extraordinary voice. She was widely regarded as one of France's greatest international stars, and died of cancer in 1963 aged only 47. To celebrate, a major exhibition has opened in Paris, with over 400 exhibits including photographs, song sheets, handwritten notes, posters - some of them never before seen by the public - as well as film excerpts and recordings. The head curator of the exhibition is Joël Huthwohl. He told Paul Henley about her amazing life story.
