“I’m flabbergasted by what we’re seeing at Enceladus”

Within Saturn’s icy moon Enceladus, there is a large salty ocean. The water contains organic compounds and hot water springs emerge from the ocean’s rocky floor. These findings make Enceladus the most promising place in our solar system to search for extra-terrestrial life. On Earth, forms of life flourish in these conditions. So what might be happening inside Enceladus? Nasa planetary scientist Chris Mckay speculates.
