Lonesome George could 'return' from extinction
Scientists have found very close relatives to what was thought to be the last tortoise of its species. Pinta Island tortoises were believed to have become extinct with the death of the male individual, nicknamed Lonesome George, in 2012. But now, with careful breeding, a team of scientists will try to revive the Pinta Island species.
