    The Los Angeles Times and the New York Times, citing unnamed law enforcement officials, say investigators believe the suspects were known to those targeted

    "Investigators believe there were three gunmen and one of them had worked at the facility and recently had a dispute with fellow employees, according to law enforcement officials," the New York Times reports, adding a witness said despite a face covering, one sounded and appeared very similar to employee who had left earlier.

  6. Update from hospital that is treating shooting victims

    Loma Linda University Medical Center says they received five adult patients - two critical but stable, two fair, one still being assessed. 

    The hospital was put on alert for an hour after a bomb threat but it has been cleared.

  7. "I thought, "Oh my God, that could be gunshots," and I pulled over."

    David Danelski, a staff writer with the Press Enterprise, has sent his colleagues a dispatch from a neighbourhood backyard as police searched for a suspect.

    More cops come and one officer starts yelling at me and pulls his pistol and he asks me what I’m doing there.

    “I’m a reporter,” I said.

    “How did you end up here?” the cop asks.

    “I just got caught up in this,” I told him.

    He said, “We don’t know who’s out here. Take your camera and go.”

  10. County health employees inside building when suspects open fired

    The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health has confirmed to the AP that several of its employees were inside a social services facility when gunmen opened fire.

  14. Officer injured, one suspect down and at least one 'outstanding'

    A San Bernardino police spokeswoman said an officer was injured but did not suffer life-threatening wounds after police spotted the vehicle in a nearby neighbourhood. 

    "A suspect has been hit," she says, but it is unclear if there is still one or two suspects at large.

    After the mass shooting in San Bernardino, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued the following statement:"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families and everyone affected by the brutal attack. California will spare no effort in bringing these killers to justice." 

  16. Shot three times, man calls family to say 'I love you'

    Despite being shot three times, Kevin Ortiz called his wife and father to tell them he was alive, reports the Los Angeles Times.

    Ortiz was shot twice in the leg and once in the shoulder during an attack at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.

  17. People near standoff locked inside

    The New York Times speaks to one resident of the street where police have surrounded a dark vehicle with three armoured cars.

    "It’s two blocks from my house. I can’t go outside. Some guy told me, get inside, lock your doors," Linda Pevlor says.
