In case you didn't know… Lil Bub is a cat.

Like all famous cats, Bub was discovered on the internet.

Her owner Mike Bridavsky adopted her after she was found as a feral kitten in a tool shed in Indiana, US, before posting photos of her on Tumblr.

Lil Bub lives with several birth defects which mean she has extra toes, no teeth, disproportionately small limbs and "squeaks, gurgles, snorts and hiccups" instead of meowing.

Despite this (or perhaps just because she's adorable) she's racked up more than 2m likes on Facebook and 173,000 subscribers on YouTube.

She appeared in a Vice documentary called Lil Bub & Friendz and even Michelle Obama has been on her 14-part TV show.

It was inevitable she would move into the music industry, having previously collaborated with Snoop Dogg (no, he didn't chase her up a tree) on Run The Jewels remix album Meow The Jewels.

Self-Proclaimed "king Of partying" Andrew WK is a long-time collaborator and supporter of Lil Bub.

He said: "It may seem impossible that a cat could compose an entire album of carefully-crafted instrumental music, but BUB is not simply 'a cat'.

"She came from the deep unknown, on an intergalactic mission to help the people and animals of earth with her magic, talents, and otherworldly wisdom.

"I can attest to her power - the time I spent with her absolutely made me a better person."

We think Andrew WK may have partied a little too hard.

He said: "BUB is more than just a 'muse'; she wrote this music and used the musicians on this album (BUB's dude, Mike, and his close friend Matt, who is also the official bubbysitter), as her creative vessels to get the music from inside of her spirit and into your mind.

"If it weren't for BUB, this music would not exist."

We totally believe you, Andrew.

Lil Bub - Science & Magic is out on 4 December on Joyful Noise Recordings
