In pictures: British wildlife winners

The winning images in this year's British Wildlife Photography Awards have been chosen from thousands of entries in 16 separate categories. This image of gannets on a Shetland Islands clifftop made by Barrie Williams was named the overall winner.
This shot of a Common Lizard on a tree in Surrey, England, by William Harvey was the winner in the Animal Portraits category.
This impressive moment, captured as a pheasant displayed its tail feathers, triumphed in the Animal Behaviour category. The photo was taken in Nottinghamshire, England by Kris Worsley.
A floating water fern, also known as fairy moss, was the subject of Tim Hunt's Botanical Britain category winning image.
Terry Whittaker won the British Nature in Black and White category for his photograph of Pink-Footed Geese flying through the mist over Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands.
A "gang of starlings" by Tomos Brangwyn won the Urban Wildlife category.
Chaitanya Deshpande's Wild Woodland category winner, titled A Flutter in the Woods, was shot in London, England.
A tiny mite walks between the eyes of a frog in Chris Speller's Close to Nature category winner.
The award for the best Documentary Series went to David Pressland for his project on toads in North York Moors National Park.
Kevin Sawford's four images of Roe Deer pictured during each season of the year won the British Seasons category. Here is the summer scene.
First place in the under-12 junior category went to 10-year-old Max Eve for his shot of a Blue-tailed Damselfly, pictured at Caerlaverock Wetland Centre near Dumfries in Scotland.
