Roisin Murphy picks the episode presented by Kim Gordon

Another chance to hear Kim Gordon sit in for Iggy Pop and spin the songs that have defined her life. Repeated as part of Roisin Murphy's Wise Woman selections.

BBC Radio 6 Music's second Wise Woman, Roisin Murphy, selects the episode of Iggy Pop's programme in which Iggy handed over the reins to Kim Gordon. The bassist, guitarist and singer spins the songs that have defined her life.

Gordon released 'Girl In A Band', a critically acclaimed memoir of her extraordinary experiences growing up in California and going on to form Sonic Youth, one of the most influential alternative bands of all time.

You can think of this radio programme as the musical accompaniment to that autobiography. Expect to hear a radical two hours of music, featuring Yoko Ono, Nirvana, Black Flag, Bikini Kill, The Carpenters, and Chopin.
