To celebrate the Academy Awards we hear from stars of sport and Hollywood

Sport and the movies have a rich history and ahead of the Academy Award we have our own star studded cast of sportsman turn actors, actors turning to sport and stories so fantastical you'll be left wondering what's real and what's Hollywood!

Foxcatcher
The 5 times Oscar nominated film Foxcatcher is based on a book of the same name written by former Olympic wrestling gold medallist Mark Shultz. We have been speaking to Mark who explained why he initially called the film as “scum” and reveals his relationship with the actors and director who have bought his story to the big screen. He also details his real life experiences with coach John Du Pont who was convicted of murdering his brother David.

Miracle on Ice: The Other side of the Story
We celebrate the 35th anniversary of the so called Miracle on Ice We hear from the director of a new film that tells the story from the Soviet point of view. Gabe Polsky’s Red Army will be shown this weekend in Lake Placid where the USA Gold medal winning team are reuniting to remember their remarkable victory over the USSR in the 1980 Winter Olympic Ice Hockey tournament.

The Theory of Everything
Is Frank Leboeuf about to top Pele and Bobby Moore? All three are World Cup winners in football and all three have appeared in Hollywood blockbusters. However none have been in an Oscar winning film. That could all change on Sunday if the movie Frank Leboeuf appears in The Theory of Everything grabs a gong.

007 & The Ashes:
The fortunes off the England cricket team are the subject of much angst for their fans. So how can the teams failures be rectified? Maybe it’s time to call upon James Bond? After all he has played in the Ashes before! Although unfortunately for England he turned out for Australia. It all happened at the Hollywood Cricket Club where actors are all-rounders, thespians top edge and stars swing bowl.

Cricket's Most Shocking Win
Ireland beat West Indies at the Cricket World Cup earlier this week to cause a pretty big shock in the cricketing world. However it was nothing on the cricket Richter scale in comparison to when the Irish beat The Windies in 1969. Dismissing them for just 25 in the porcess! Ivan Anderson stared that day for the Irish, compares and contrasts these two great moments in Irish cricket.
