"It was a great thing to hear, but that had nothing to do with the defeat," he said about the reaction of Dortmund's fans in his last game in charge.
"We've grown together over the years, but it wasn't any comfort after the result. We won't be celebrating the defeat, but there will be a farewell party and I had hoped we'd win to be able to avoid having to qualify for the Europa League, but it's not meant to be."

Berlin has been transformed into a sea of yellow and black. Up to 100,000 (that's right, 100,000!) Dortmund fans - many without tickets - have made the journey to the German capital for manager Jurgen Klopp's final game. Wolfsburg will be cheered on by around 25,000.

Barcelona's season looked dead and buried four months ago after a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad left them trailing Real Madrid by one point having played one game more. Victory against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey later and Luis Enrique's side, who went on to win La Liga and face Juventus in next week's Champions League final, will be one game from a stunning treble.
The action at the Nou Camp starts at 20:30 BST. We begin in Berlin at 19:00 BST where Borussia Dortmund hope to give departing manager Jurgen Klopp the perfect send off by lifting the German Cup at Wolfsburg's expense.
