Vital election stats: Hair grips, selfies and tea towels

It's the final push of the election and in true public service tradition, we can bring you some detailed statistics:

The Conservatives say they expect David Cameron to have travelled nearly 13,000 miles and in one day he had breakfast in Edinburgh, lunch in Belfast, ice cream in Barry Island in Wales and a Cornish pasty in Cornwall.

Labour says they have had five million conversations with voters this year and have sold 13,281 tea towels.

According to UKIP, Nigel Farage met 20,000 constituents and ate about 25 curries.

The SNP says there have been 20,386 Selfies with Nicola Sturgeon shared on Twitter.

While Plaid Cymru told us that Leanne Wood has travelled 12,282 miles and has gone through 504 kirby grips for her trademark hair style.

The Greens say that their leader Natalie Bennett has consumed 680 Lockets to keep her voice going because she's been talking to so many voters.

And the Liberal Democrats tell us Nick Clegg has travelled 8,367 miles. And one pigeon has been tragically hit by the battle bus.

Not all these statistics have been independently verified by the Institute for Fiscal Studies and we are unable to tell you how hard hats or high vis jackets have been worn during the campaign or how many unvetted members of the public have been met by party leaders.
