Is The Reaction To This Couple's Happy News A Shocking Reflection of Broken Britain?
The couple - Helen and Rob Titchener of Ambridge - have been together since 2013. They married in secret while holidaying in the Isle of Wight.
The groom, Rob Titchener, who is reportedly looking forward to playing daddy to Helen's son Henry, aged 4, was singled out for abuse.
He is a manipulator, a liar, a control freak and an emotional and psychological abuser, not to mention an adulterer. [Brenda Selwyn on Facebook]
Listeners also took to social media to diss the bride, Helen Titchener, 36. She had kept the wedding a secret from her family.
So as well as being immature and needy, Helen is an accomplished, scheming liar? [Pauline Hooley on Facebook]
Accomplished liar in her early dealings with Greg, very secretive. Accomplished liar when she asked Tom to take responsibility for her drunk driving. Accomplished liar when she was having her secretive early affair with Rob, even made jewellery, not. She is very accomplished and is lying in this instance. [Valerie Adams on Facebook]
Helen's always been quick to throw almost any member of her family beneath the bus if they're getting in the way of her love / sex / eating life. [Kate Parker on Facebook]
With many insinuating that she had been hoodwinked into the marriage with Mr Titchener, her partner of 2 years
Poor Helen is a victim of a psycho manipulating, controlling abuser. He's actually got her believing everything he's brainwashing her with. And after the mental abuse grinding down her individuality, comes the physical abuse. I despair for the poor woman. [Fi Cawley on Facebook]
Now he will start to subtly increase the control - over Henry too now he considers himself Henry's father.....will Helen notice and, if so, close her eyes and ears because she is besotted? [Jean Bell on Facebook]
Hey Helen, I've got you some new cheese wire for a wedding present. You could use it for cutting chunks of Borcestshire blue. For other suggestions please inbox me. [Mandy Kennedy on Facebook]
A divorce sweepstake was swiftly announced
And conspiracy theories abounded
Am I alone in thinking that Rob Titchnob somehow used bull semen, revolting, I know [think Charlie's conversation with Brian re Berrow Farm fertility data being manipulated] to replace his for the paternity test? Or maybe I just need counseling and more wine? [Amanda Burgess on Facebook]
Perhaps most shockingly, four-year-old Henry Archer received similar treatment.
As were suppositions that the pair might ultimately give birth to another child.
Shame on you, Facebook and Twitter. Shame on you.
