  7. Attempted abduction in Abingdon

    A 12-year-old girl escaped unharmed when a man tried to grab her on a path in Abingdon this morning.

    The girl was walking near the Motte Box Hill Walk Path at about 08:15 when a man approached from behind, grabbed her wrist and pulled her.

    The victim managed to kick her attacker and run away. He is described as white with a tan, of large build and in his 30s.

  8. Oxford United disorder images released by police

    Thames Valley Police has issued several images of people it would like to speak to over disorder at Oxford United football matches.

    The force says the incidents they are investigating took place at the United match against Millwall on 2 February and the away match at Portsmouth on 23 January.

  9. Victoria Pendleton congratulated for race win in Parliament

    The Thame-based former Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton has been praised in Parliament for her first win as a jockey.

    The novice only started riding a year ago but managed a victory aboard Pacha Du Polder at Wincanton yesterday.

  10. Travel latest: M40 delays and temporary lights in Kingston Bagpuize

  11. Loft fire on Warwick Street in Oxford

    Fire crews tackled a blaze at a terraced house in Oxford as it began to spread to neighbouring properties.

    The converted loft space in the property on Warwick Street caught alight in the early hours of this morning.

    No-one was injured.

  12. CCTV images released after purse theft

    CCTV images have been released of two men who police would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a purse at Robert Dyas in Banbury.

    The theft happened at the shop on High Street between 13:00 and 13:30 on Friday 5 February, when an elderly woman was engaged in conversation by two men.

    She later realised her purse had been taken from her handbag and her bank cards were used in Oxford at KFC and the BP Connect Service Station on Woodstock Road.

    The campaigning ahead of the referendum on the UK's membership of the EU is increasing, with BMW writing to its employees at the Cowley Mini plant about the dangers of leaving.

    Now a South East MEP has called on his constituents to sack him.

  14. Zeli Ismail leaves Oxford United

    Wolves winger Zeli Ismail has left Oxford United after his one-month loan deal expired.

    The 22-year-old made six appearances for the U’s, but failed to start a game for the League Two side.

  15. BMW EU warning 'no suprise'

    BMW warning staff at Cowley's Mini factory of the dangers of leaving the European Union is no surprise, according to the Vote Leave campaign.

    Workers are expected to receive an email from BMW today highlighting what the company sees as the risks of a UK exit from the EU.

  16. Didcot power station investigation 'moving into new phase'

    The work to reach the three people still missing after the collapse of part of a building at Didcot power station, and the investigation into what happened, will likely take many months, police say.

    At a news conference, Assistant Chief Constable Scott Chilton paid tribute to the families of the victims and said the thoughts of everyone were with them.

    ACC Chilton said the building is still considered unsafe and they are seeking specialist advice as to when they will be able to gain access to the site.
