The government may have rejected the petition that received hundreds of thousands of signatures, calling for all children to be vaccinated against meningitis B, but a private Oxford clinic says it has been inundated with calls from parents requesting immunisation for their children in recent weeks.

We'll hear from the clinic, and the Oxford Vaccine Group which helped develop the drug, and agrees with the government that offering it to all children would not be the best use of NHS money.

A&E delays in England have reached record levels, official figures show, with 88.7% of patients dealt with in four hours.

Oxfordshire was even lower with 84% of patients seen in the four-hour target. The target is 95%.

Two men who dedicate their lives to catching American invaders in Oxfordshire's waterways say there are plenty more Crayfish in the sea.

The Great Western train line, which runs services through Didcot and Oxford, needs to have more competition, according to a report by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

The watchdog report said competition resulted in lower fares and a growth in passenger numbers.

• On the A40 it's taking 20 minutes to get from Cassington to the roadworks at Wolvercote

Henley rugby player Amy Atkinson lifted 90kg in the bench press at the final of British Unequipped Full Power Championships at Kings Lynn, bettering the previous record of 88kg.

Oxford University has come top in a Times Higher Education ranking of European universities.

The group behind a proposed hydroelectric power scheme on Goring Weir say they have been inundated with messages welcoming the planning approval last night.

The 48-hour strike will continue until tomorrow morning at 08:00.

It takes place this year between 26 and 28 August.
