Land Rover Defender gets high-speed makeover
Land Rover Defenders are being upgraded into cars which can go from 0 to 60mph in up to five seconds.
The new car, known as a JE Zulu and seen here being tested at Coventry Airport, will cost £150,000.
A team at J E Engineering in Coventry is currently converting 25 Defenders. The standard 120 brake horsepower engine will be replaced with a V8 JLR Supercharged unit producing 475 brake horsepower, similar to that of Ferraris and Porches.
The Defender production line in Solihull is due to close down at the end of 2015.
