Fulham 0-3 Leeds United

Sol Bamba scores for Leeds
Sol Bamba's goal was his first for Leeds

Leeds kept Fulham in trouble at the foot of the table as goals from Sam Byram, Sol Bamba and Mirco Antenucci ensured victory at Craven Cottage.

Byram opened the scoring on 40 minutes and Bamba headed in from a corner three minutes after the restart.

Fulham defender Kostas Stafylidis was dismissed for two quick bookings before Antenucci made it three late on.

Fulham, now with just one win in 13, are six points above the relegation zone while Leeds climb to 12th place.

It is only 10 months since Fulham were in the Premier League but a terrible first season back in the second tier means that they could be relegated again.

Kit Symons' side have lost 21 times this season in all competitions, winning three out of 19 since Boxing Day.

Fulham forwards Matt Smith and Ross McCormack - both recruited from Leeds last summer for a combined fee of £11.5m - each missed good early chances before Byram put Leeds ahead, heading in Gaetano Berardi's cross.

More slack defending after the break allowed Bamba to head in Alex Mowatt's corner and Stafylidis was then booked twice in two minutes and sent-off.

Antenucci wrapped up the win - Leeds' fifth in the last six on the road - when Byram's cross was only palmed out by Fulham keeper Marcus Bettinelli.

Fulham face fellow strugglers Wigan, Rotherham and Blackpool in an eight-day period in April which is likely to decide their fate.

Fulham manager Kit Symons: "[The relegation battle] is very much in our hands.

"We need three more wins and it's down to us to get them - we probably had enough chances to win three games tonight.

"Even in the second half, down to 10 men, we created really good chances but we didn't take them and goals change games.

"The sending-off didn't help. It was rash, a silly, petulant thing to do.

"Ross played well but there is always that element against your old team that you can try too hard and maybe that was the case."

Leeds boss Neil Redfearn: "In the first half Fulham were the better side and we were having to dig deep to stay with them.

"They got a rollicking at half-time. But we worked hard, toughed it out and although we got the goal against the run of play I thought we got on top of it.

"Our keeper made two or three outstanding saves at 0-0 which kept us in the game and I think it could have been four or five in the end."
