I'm so excited for The Dotty Show to become part of the weekday schedule on 1Xtra - it's a massive honour to get to work at my favourite radio station every day.

A.Dot joined 1Xtra in 2014, and since June this year, she has presented the station’s weekend 1-4pm show. A.Dot’s first show in her new weekday slot will be on Monday 5 October.

A.Dot says: "I'm so excited for The Dotty Show to become part of the weekday schedule on 1Xtra - it's a massive honour to get to work at my favourite radio station every day. I'm hugely grateful to everyone at 1Xtra for nurturing me during an incredible first year at the station and for being brave enough to unleash me on our listeners five days a week! There's gonna be more music and more mayhem and I can't wait to get started.”

Rhys Hughes, Head of Programmes at Radio 1 & 1Xtra, says: “We are absolutely delighted that Dotty will be taking over afternoons on 1Xtra and we’re looking forward to her bringing her unique take on life coupled with a deep passion for music to weekdays. I would also like to thank Sarah-Jane for her hard work and dedication to 1Xtra. We wish her all the best in her new adventure in LA.”

Sarah-Jane Crawford says: “I would like to thank everyone who has supported me at the BBC, especially all of my fantastic editors and producers who have given me the most wonderful seven years of radio broadcasting. I am really excited to be starting a new project in LA. However, I will be sad to leave such an amazing home as nobody does it quite like 1Xtra and Radio 1.”

Sarah-Jane Crawford joined 1Xtra in 2008 and has since hosted a number of shows including early morning weekend breakfast and afternoon weekends. She has hosted her current 1-4pm weekday show for the past three and a half years.

Sarah-Jane will present her last show on Friday 2 October.

For three months, beginning in October, Jamz Supernova will take over the 1-4pm weekend show from A.Dot, whil Kenny Allstar, Mim Shaikh and Yasser will each host a month in the Saturday, 4-7pm slot (currently presented by Jamz Supernova).

Notes to Editors

Yasser has a show on the BBC Asian Network, Fridays 9pm-midnight, championing new, unsigned and live British-Asian music.
