    Promoted Reading FC Women have signed midfielder Kayleigh Hines from Oxford United Women for an undisclosed fee.

    It will be the 24-year-old's second spell with Reading, who she has joined on a full-time contract for the 2016 Women's Super League 1 season.

    She joined Oxford in August 2013 after a spell in the United States with Millburn Magic and made 19 appearances last season, scoring seven goals.

    The deployment of a team of Oxfordshire firefighters and specialist pumping equipment to Cumbria was in response to a national call to help the areas of northern England hit by flooding.

    The High Volume Pump will allow the crew to shift 7,000 litres of water over 3km (1.9 miles) at any one time.

  10. Child taken to hospital after Oxford car crash

    A child has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital by ambulance after being involved in a collision with a car in Oxford this afternoon.

    The ambulance service responded to a call at 13:53 on Horspath Driftway.

    The child's injuries were described as "minor".

  16. Banbury pair killed in horse box crash

    A man and woman from Banbury died in a crash between their car and a vehicle transporting horses in Gloucestershire.

    The 67-year-old driver of a Kia and his 58-year-old female passenger died in the collision on the A436 near Stow on the Wold at about 14:30 on Saturday.

  17. Oxfordshire firefighters to help with floods in northern England

    A team of six firefighters and a station manager, equipped with a high volume pump capable of dispersing large amounts of water, are helping with the flood relief work in Cumbria.

    The crew and the pump are normally based in Banbury, but their places will be filled with other local firefighters called in to cover. 

    The service says the ability to deal with any floods in Oxfordshire is unaffected by the deployment.
