Latitude gets under way in just a few days time, but one Suffolk band who've already been in fine festival form this summer is Love Nor Money, just back from T in the Park at Strathallen Castle in Perthshire.

The trio - comprising of sisters Bess and Jayna Cavendish and Anna Tosh Hall - came to our attention earlier in the year when they uploaded 'Battlefields' to the BBC Introducing Uploader, and we were delighted that they got the nod for T.

"It was definitely our most important gig to date as a band. A year ago we could only vision this happening but now it actually has and it's a dream come true!" said Bess.

Woodhall Primary School in Sudbury has announced the sudden death of its head teacher, Mrs Lesley Farrow.

In a statement on the school website - it says the students have been told - and support has been put in place for them.

If you saw Suffolk Wildlife Trust's photo of a dismembered bee, one of 100 apparently killed in Badingham by some blue tits, you may still be in a state of shock.

Well, Hawk Honey, who works for the trust, says it is natural behaviour: "They are going for the thorax area as this area is high in fat from the huge wing muscles of the bumblebees," he said.

"The birds should not be stopped from this behaviour as it is a natural process and the birds need to accumulate fat to help them survive the cold nights. The nesting season for birds is over, so they won't produce any more young. So it is vitally important that the birds are allowed to forage on the bees."

One lane is closed and there's slow traffic on the A14 westbound between J39 (Kentford) and J38 (A11) because of a broken down car.

Eight caravans remain at an illegal traveller camp in Kesgrave, down from dozen or so on the site last week.

Suffolk Coastal council will return to court tomorrow as part of the eviction process, although the travellers group has told the BBC they intended to leave today.

Elsewhere the council has started eviction proceedings against travellers who set up in a Woodbridge Car park at the weekend. It is thought they may have come from the Kesgrave site.

Damian McGrath (front centre) has coached at international level in both rugby league and rugby union and he says he is relishing being a part of Bury St Edmunds rapid rise through the ranks.

The Wolfpack will play in National League Division 2 next season and have recruited the Yorkshire man as their new defence and skills coach.

"My focus is to set standards and I expect the players to get to them. They should relish the opportunity to push themselves and achieve more than they thought they could previously," McGrath said.

A lit can of lighter fluid was put through the letterbox of a house in Lowestoft last night, (Sunday) causing a small fire to break out.

Rising basketball star Caleb Fuller has become the latest talented sportsperson from the county to be awarded a grant from Suffolk SportsAid.

Fuller, who plays his club basketball for Ipswich, is already an England age group international having represented the country at under 15 level in 2014 and again this year at under 16 level.

Technical and performance manager for Basketball England, Vladan Dragosavac, described the 16-year-old as "a pivotal part and valued member of the England national basketball team programme for the last two years".

Motorists are being advised that there may be traffic delays on the A12 around Henham Park at the end of the week - as thousands of festival goers head to the Latitude site.

In previous years the volume of traffic heading up the A12 meant delays north of Yoxford and police advise motorists to leave extra time for their journeys.

Among the headline acts this year for the Festival, which runs from 16-19 July, are Portishead, alt-J and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

The dismembering of more than 100 bees has been witnessed by a householder in Badingham, Suffolk Wildlife Trust says.

The trust posted a photo of one of the bees on Facebook, saying that blue tits "systematically decapitated them".

And surprisingly, well to me at least, it turns out to be "well recorded" behaviour in great tits and blue tits. The birds target the bees' thorax area for their fat, the trust said.

Staying with sport and Ipswich Town teenager Adam McDonnell has a bright future ahead of him according to fellow midfielder Cole Skuse (pictured).

The 18-year-old, who arrived a Portman Road a year ago but has his career held up by red tape, played the first half of Saturday's 6-0 win over Shelbourne and was involved in Alex Henshall's opening goal.

Skuse is clearly impressed by the young Irishman "He's a very, very technically gifted player who's very assured and composed... you can see why the club brought him over from Shelbourne. know he had a bit of trouble with his clearance but he trained with us all season and is a very good player."

Unbeaten middleweight Anthony Ogogo, 26, will fight Ukrainian Ruslan Schelev on his return to the ring after a year out through injury to his Achilles.

Schelev, who is also 26 and has won 11 of his 14 professional fights, will face Ogogo, from Lowestoft, at the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany on Saturday.

Four abandoned few-day-old kittens were dumped in a bin bag at Ipswich's skate park. They were taken in by Orwell Vets and are now in good health and have been allocated new homes.

Robert Quinn, from Walton Close in Stowmarket, has been named as the 19-year-old who died after the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a car on the B1115 between Great Finborough and Hitcham on 10 July.

Mr Quinn's family have released a tribute saying: "Rob was a kind hearted young man who was loved by everyone who knew him... He had a very promising future ahead of him and he has made us immensely proud.

"We are very touched by all the messages... in memory of Rob. He has touched the lives of so many through his selflessness and generosity. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten."

A coin struck in Ipswich during the reign of Eadgar, Anglo-Saxon King of all England, has sold at auction for £3,500.

The coin, a full silver penny from late in Eadgar's reign (959 to 975AD), is the first type of coin known to bear the name of the town Gipes, pronounced "yipswitch".

A spokesman for Lockdales Auctioneers in Martlesham, said: "There are nine full coins known to still exist by the moneyer Leofric at Ipswich for Eadgar, most of which are in museums. This makes the present coin very desirable for collectors..."

Police are linking two robberies which took place in Ipswich last Friday and Saturday.

In the first incident, which took place in Civic Drive at about 11:30, a 24-year-old man handed over his wallet, passport and iPhone after being threatened by two men, one of whom was holding a knife.

In the second incident about 20:30, a 28-year-old man had his phone and wallet stolen after four men approached him in the St Stephens Church Lane area. One pushed him against a wall whilst another carried out the robbery.

Midfielder Cole Skuse says the Ipswich team are "devastated" for Luke Hyam after he suffered his second long-term knee injury in a year.

BBC Suffolk has been told that the 'vast majority' of homes in Stradbroke Road are holiday homes or second homes, with just three or four lived in by families.

The Southwold and Reydon Society, who are carrying out the research, say they're watching the changes very carefully.

Appearing in Woodbridge over the weekend, where he gave a talk on his UFO encounter in Rendlesham Forest in 1980, he said he now has statements from radar operators at RAF Bentwaters and nearby Wattisham airfield that an unknown object was tracked at the time.

Col Halt now lives in another Woodbridge, but across the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia - "purely a coincidence" he says.

Most of Bury St Edmunds rugby players are yet to meet new defence and skills coach Damian McGrath (pictured), but director of rugby Gavin Hogg says the whole club is delighted to have him on board.

McGrath worked on the international stage as a coach to both the England and Great Britain rugby league teams before switching codes following an approach from the RFU.

Suffolk Coastal District Council has apologised for any "inconvenience" caused by travellers who have set up at one of its car parks in Woodbridge.

Travellers, possibly from a larger group who have been at Kesgrave for about a month, arrived at the Lime Kiln Quay car park at the weekend.

A spokesman for the council said: "We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause regular users of the car park and we would like to reassure local people that we will be working with our partners at Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Police to resolve the matter as soon as we can, within the current legislation."

Campaigners are rallying against a proposed 'ghost junction' on the A1088 in Ixworth saying if plans go through the area could become an accident black spot.

Four men have been taken to hospital - two of them with serious injuries - following a two-vehicle collision on the A145 London Road at Beccles in the early hours of this morning.

A male passenger in one of the vehicles has sustained serious potentially life-threatening injuries including a collapsed lung. The driver sustained cuts to his head while another passenger sustained a fractured rib, police say. The driver of the second vehicle sustained bruising.

A 30-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion on drink driving. He will now face no further action.

They had become concerned that more than 100 travellers were to join a group who have been based near the Farmhouse pub for about a month.

There was no influx of travellers over the weekend and the blockade is now partly broken up.

Work to recover two HGVs involved in an accident on the A14 westbound at J37 (Exning) should get underway very soon, Suffolk Police say.

A crane will be used in the operation to lift the vehicles onto a low-loader. Once one lorry has been moved, police hope to be able to re-open one lane.

A spokesman added that injuries to one of the drivers, earlier thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, are now thought not to be so serious.

The MP for Waveney is arranging to meet with representatives of Barclays following the announcement their branch in Bungay will close later this year.

Barclays says customer usage has declined by 54% since 2008 and 51% of customers now regularly use alternative branches.

Former deputy commander of US airbase at RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk, who returned to Woodbridge on Saturday to talk about his encounter with a UFO, said he was angry that when the base closed in 1993 its state-of-the-art hospital was knocked down.

Col Charles Halt, now 75, who served at Bentwaters in the 1980s, said: "It was a multi-million dollar hospital and they bulldozed it. They should be ashamed of doing that. It was all poorly managed."

He said the hospital could have been a great health resource for the people of east Suffolk.

An accident involving two vehicles is blocking the A1071 in Hintlesham in both directions near The Street junction.

The Duke of Cambridge has admitted he is "feeling the nerves" as he begins his new job as an air ambulance pilot. His first shift began at Cambridge Airport at 07:00 BST.

Prince William did a civilian pilot course in September before undergoing dedicated 999-response training in order to take up the role with the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) to cover Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.

All three lanes of the A14 westbound will shut shortly until lunchtime for recovery of one of the two lorries involved in an accident close to J37 in the early hours of this morning.

Town boss Mick McCarthy says he gave short shrift to an audacious loan offer from an unnamed club for last season's 27-goal Championship top scorer Daryl Murphy, the subject of much transfer speculation this summer, according to the TWTD website.

It looks as if some of vans were part of the group who've been camped at Kesgrave as I recognise one of the cars.

I've just seen one woman park her car and put money into the machine, so at this stage the presence of the travellers doesn't seem to be deterring members of the public from using the facility.

The 23-year-old, who hasn't played since January because of injury, has been ruled out of action for four months after surgery on the knee he hurt in training last week.

Skuse says no one had any idea how serious it was at the time "Next minute he's saying he's got to go back and have surgery and the lads were absolutely devastated for him because he's worked so hard... and an honest pro... to have that setback has not just hit him hard, it's hit everyone hard."

A church with a healthy congregation may have to close if a new warden can't be found.
