Benteke can shine at Liverpool - Rodgers
Football
PACopyright: PA
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes new signing Christian Benteke can be a huge player for the club after the striker earlier this week.
"There's a number of qualities that he has and he will only improve in his time at the club," said Rodgers. "If you look at his goals record since the time that he's been in the Premier League he's up there with the best in terms of numbers. So that was very important for us.
"Obviously I've heard and I've seen stuff about the style, 'he won't fit the style of how we play' - I think he'll only complement it and help us. He's a big guy but he's got the attributes that I like in terms of pace and movement and he gets goals.
"He's great in the air, strong, he can hold the game up, he can play on the counter-attack, he can play whenever the team is deep because he can hold the ball up with his physical strength."

Leeds Rhinos have signed Wests Tigers prop Keith Galloway on a three-year deal.
The 29-year-old Australia international will join the Rhinos for the start of next season after being released from the final year of his contract with the NRL side.
Rhinos coach Brian McDermott told BBC Radio Leeds: "He's a tough, uncompromising prop who gives you plenty of game time."
The 25-year-old is the fourth signing the Wildcats have made this week after Lee Smith, Bill Tupou and Scott Moore.
Warburton defends Rangers over Allan bid
Football

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has defended his club following their pursuit of Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan days before the teams meet in the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup on Saturday.
Rangers made a slightly improved offer for Allan on Thursday, hours after Hibs confirmed they had rejected a £175,000 bid for the player.
"My job is in the football department, out there on the grass, managing the players and the group of staff around the players, and working with the academy," said Warburton.
"I'm paid to do that job. The other work, the more difficult stuff, is handled by the powers that be. We have to look after Rangers Football Club in everything we do. That selfish approach for any successful business, let alone football, is looking after number one so to speak."
Coe unveils finance plan
Athletics

IAAF presidential candidate Seb Coe has promised an Olympic athletics dividend to all of the IAAF's 214 member federations if he is elected president in next month's election.
The dividend would be funded through approximately half of the quadrennial fee received from the International Olympic Committee [IOC] and would help help fund athletics development at grassroots level.
It would give each federation at least $100,000 (£64,400) over a four-year cycle, totalling around $22m (£14m)

Bath head coach Mike Ford says he understands why England plan to play rugby league convert Sam Burgess at centre, but has also stressed that he will remain as a blindside flanker at club level.
Former England scrum-half Matt Dawson said earlier this week that Burgess, 26, had been "found out" playing at centre for Bath in the Premiership last season and jad been "a real threat" in the forward pack.
Ford told BBC Radio Bristol: "I know ultimately he'll come back a better player with his experience at the World Cup, so I'm pretty chilled about it. It doesn't concern me at all. Wherever he plays, he'll contribute to the England team."

"Sergio has known from day one that I want him to stay and I'm sure that he'll stay with us," said Benitez after Friday's win over Manchester City in the International Champions Cup in Melbourne.
"People are asking me about different players that maybe we will buy and I always say the same thing, 'he's not our player, I will not talk about that'.

Mourinho defends De Bruyne sale

Jose Mourinho says he has no regrets about selling Manchester City target Kevin de Bruyne, insisting the winger lacked the necessary mentality to succeed at Chelsea.
Mourinho sold the 24-year-old Belgian to Wolfsburg in a deal worth £18m in January 2014 but he has been linked with a return to the Premier League for a fee in the region of £50m.
"He needed a team where he knows he can play every game. He needs to know that he is important," said Mourinho.
"He did not want a team where he thinks, 'am I playing or not?'. He needs that trust, he needs that quality. He needs that security. So I was not happy when he left."

Chelsea captain John Terry believes manager Jose Mourinho's decision to sign a new contract at the club is a huge blow to their rivals.
Mourinho has confirmed that a new four-year deal has been agreed and it is only a matter of time before it is made official.
"It's great news for the club but terrible news for everybody else because the other managers know that he finds ways to beat teams," Terry told the London Evening Standard.

That was the complicated bit. These are the basic bits you may actually care about.
Games will be played from September 2016 to October 2017.

The draw we will be focussing on is obviously the European section.
Russia have already qualified as hosts, and the other 52 member nations have been split into six pots based on Fifa's July rankings.

The nine top seeds in Europe - including Wales and England - will first be drawn into a group. (For TV rights purposes, England, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands will be drawn into groups of six teams, as will Italy and France from pot two).
A team from each of the other four or five pots will then be drawn into each group to make up the nine groups.

Openers Stiaan van Zyl and Dean Elgar were on 33 and 28 runs respectively, as Bangladesh's first innings lead slipped to 17.
The second and final Test of two-match series will be held in Dhaka from 30 July to 3 August.
Big chance
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid (51 mins)
Manchester City should be right back in this. David Silva collects a pass in the box, shapes to shoot, dummies Marcelo into next week and now has all the time to pick his spot but it's blocked as Marcelo dives back to desperately recover.
Silva only had eight yards to goal, it looked nailed on.

Bale out?
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid - (49 mins)
Gareth Bale will be a man under the microscope this year after a disappointing campaign last time around.
The Welshman is caught offside lazily and then bursts from the halfway line with the ball only to get his footwork tangled up.
Cristiano Ronaldo looks on and cuts a frustrated figure.
SUBSTITUTIONS

Real Madrid ring the changes at the break - Danilo, Casemiro, Jese and Raphael Varane are brought on.
No adjustments for Manchester City. Cameron Humphreys - aged 16 - and Jason Denayer - aged 20 - continue at the heart of their defence.

HALF-TIME
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid
As far as pre-season friendlies in far-flung places go, this one ain't bad, folks. We have goals at least.
Real Madrid undoubtedly have fielded the stronger of the two line-ups and perhaps it's unsurprising they have been ruthless in exposing City's makeshift back four.
City will be frustrated to have lost Fabian Delph to injury but will be encouraged Raheem Sterling continues to make his presence felt so early in his City career.

And Cristiano Ronaldo has scored. So we can relax, football is as it should be.
GOAL
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid - Toure (pen) (45 mins)
Raheem Sterling at the heart of the action as Manchester City win a penalty on the stroke of half-time. The ex-Liverpool man, playing as a striker today, peels off the back of Sergio Ramos to collect a long diagonal ball and as he pulls it down under pressure, the ball is deflected on to the Spaniard's arm.
Replays show it was outside the area but Yaya Toure cares little. Slides the kick into the bottom corner as Keylor Navas dives to his right - the wrong way.
GOAL
Manchester City 0-3 Real Madrid - Pepe (44 mins)

Though their season is further away than Manchester City's, Real Madrid just look quicker to the ball.
Neat passing forces a corner and in comes the out-swinger from Isco. Pepe is under it... a bullet header. He barely had to work for the space as City watched on. Pass me the abacus, this could end a cricket score at the Melbourne Cricket Ground...

Toure smashed, new signings watched
Manchester City 0-2 Real Madrid (38 mins)

The scoreline is perhaps a bit harsh on Manchester City, who could well have been given an early penalty when Yaya Toure was smashed by Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The keeper was just too late to a bounce and clattered the Ivorian - think Harald Schumacher on Patrick Battiston at the 1982 World Cup.
I'm surprised Toure was able to get up but he's hard at work and dummies to create space but elects to keep running rather than shoot and gets squeezed out in the area.
Sterling watch: A quiet half an hour after that one mazy run.
Delph watch: Off injured. Holding hamstring.
Sterling booed
Manchester City 0-2 Real Madrid (33 mins)
Oddly, as Melbourne is nowhere near Merseyside, each Raheem Sterling touch of the ball is being booed. As the City forward gets beaten for strength by Sergio Ramos, a cheer rings out around this famous cricket ground.

This could get ugly. Toni Kroos lifts his head on the halfway line, does he have a runner? He does and it's not a bad option is it - Cristiano Ronaldo.
In truth, the long ball is just too good for teenage defender Cameron Humphreys as it skips over his head. Ronaldo is in, Aleksandar Kolarov cannot quite get around to cover and Ronaldo pulls it down and prods it past Joe Hart, who scampers back to his goal line to clear but is half a second too slow.
That ball is over the line and that is 2-0.
GOAL
Manchester City 0-1 Real Madrid - Karim Benzema (21 mins)
One Real Madrid chance, one goal. A lesson for Manchester City's young central defensive partnership as Karim Benzema hooks the opener from nothing.
A Gareth Bale cross is there to be cleared, it's got no real pace on it but the French striker gets a good body position and hooks a volley over his shoulder from 18 yards into the net.
Navas on for Delph
Manchester City 0-0 Real Madrid (20 mins)
Fabian Delph is off the field of play. His debut lasted a shade under 20 minutes and Jesus Navas is on in his place, so a tweak to how City are set up will be needed.

Luka Modric has the customary headband on but he has just been well and truly ruffled. Fabian Delph was known for picking up needless bookings during his early days at Aston Villa - it's safe to say he loves a nibble in the tackle. Delph wildly hacks at Modric but moments later has needed to call for treatment himself and it does not look good.
Is Delph going to leave the play after less than a quarter of his City debut?

Academy player Cameron Humphreys was named as one of those who has impressed City boss Manuel Pellegrini on his side's tour of Australia.
In the early stages this game is competitive and City are using Raheem Sterling as a centre forward.
He gets into the box after a great first touch and driving run, PENALTY APPEAL, waved away. Sterling perhaps went down a bit easy but his speed of foot was exciting and got Los Blancos on the back foot. Some great jinking and weaving from the England international.

Stripping Russia of the World Cup would cause a "blast" that could exacerbate the Ukraine crisis, a former ambassador to the 2018 hosts has warned.
Fifa's controversial awarding of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments to Russia and Qatar respectively is the subject of twin corruption investigations in the US and Switzerland, leading to speculation there could be a re-vote.
Arsenal director Lord Harris says manager Arsene Wenger has the financial backing to break the club's transfer record this summer.
"We would back him to break the club's transfer record. If he wanted the man, he could have him," Harris told the Daily Mail.
"Apart from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he could have any player."

Bilic - in charge for the fourth time - feels the result will hold them in good stead for the forthcoming season.

Tour de France - Stage 19
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne - La Toussuire 138km (85.7 miles)
"With a difficult climb straight from the off, whoever has the yellow jersey will not only have to watch out for the top-five riders but those just outside.
"There is always somebody in the top seven or eight who can still be pretty dangerous on a stage like this, even if they are four or five minutes down. It's only 138km long, so it's not a huge day in the mountains and you can ride hard. I think it will be full-gas racing from start to finish.

"There's likely to be a big breakaway with more than 10 riders, Vincenzo Nibali's Astana team and Contador's Tinkoff-Saxo team too could send a man up the road.
"And Team Sky might do the same. When it comes to the final climb, each of the big contenders could have a good carrot to chase, what with the time bonus for the stage win, and people to help them down the road. We should see a big showdown."

Benteke can shine at Liverpool - Rodgers
Football

Burgess to remain flanker at Bath
Rugby Union

"People are asking me about different players that maybe we will buy and I always say the same thing, 'he's not our player, I will not talk about that'.
"In this case Karim is our player so I will not talk about that. I hope, I'm sure, that he will stay with us."

Russia 2018 chief Sorokin was speaking ahead of Saturday's World Cup draw, which is Blatter's first overseas trip since Fifa was plunged into turmoil by criminal investigations into allegations of systematic bribery.
"He has always been a friend of our country," he added.
"We respect his decision. We are certain everything he's doing is for the good of Fifa to which he has dedicated his life."
Blatter 'a victim' says Sorokin
Football
Fifa president Sepp Blatter is "a victim", according to the man in charge of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Blatter is standing down in February as a result of a corruption crisis at world football's governing body.
But Russia 2018 chief executive Alexei Sorokin told the BBC that the 79-year-old Swiss was "a very brave person".
"Unfortunately he decided to take up responsibility himself for certain things which are not within his responsibility," he said.
Orient captain Clarke leaves club
Football
Leyton Orient captain Nathan Clarke has left the League Two club in order to move north and be closer to his family.
The 31-year-old centre-back made 131 appearances for the O's after moving to east London from Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2012.
"While playing here I have been away from my young family. I feel living apart has become too hard," he told the club website.
"I have on many occasions put the club before my family's happiness and that should never happen."
Mourinho defends De Bruyne sale
Football
Cardiff's Oshilaja joins Gills on loan

Terry delight at Mourinho deal
Football
Chelsea captain John Terry believes manager Jose Mourinho's decision to sign a new contract at the club is a huge blow to their rivals.
Mourinho has confirmed that a new four-year deal has been agreed and it is only a matter of time before it is made official.
"It's great news for the club but terrible news for everybody else because the other managers know that he finds ways to beat teams," Terry told the London Evening Standard.
"He knows people inside out, on and off the pitch. Whether you're a player or manager, he does his groundwork. He knows everything."

That was the complicated bit. These are the basic bits you may actually care about.

The Fifa confederations of Africa, Oceania, South America and Concacaf (North, Central America and the Caribbean) will also be involved.

World Cup 2018 draw
Now bear with us...
Taunton rain causes postponement
Cricket
If you were thinking of going to Somerset's T20 Blast match against Middlesex at Taunton on Friday evening, then don't.
The game, which was due to start at 17:30 BST, has been postponed because of rain.
Neither team could have qualified for the quarter-finals, but the names of the five teams to join Birmingham Bears, Worcestershire and Kent in the last eight will be decided later on.

Malaysia XI 1-1 Liverpool
Full-time
It's all over in Kuala Lumpar. Adam Lallana and James Milner had shots saved among Liverpool's chances as they tried to engineer a winner.
Dejan Lovren also put a free header from a corner wide before Reds keeper Adam Bogdan made a smart save late on as both teams had to settle for a draw.
Earlier on, Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh's goal had given Malaysia the lead before a Jordon Ibe stunner.
Man City start Cup defence with win
Football
Continental Tyres Cup holders Manchester City Women began the defence of their trophy with a comfortable 3-0 win against Doncaster.
England striker Toni Duggan netted the third goal for City, with Isobel Christiansen and Nikita Parris also scoring.
Elsewhere, Natasha Dowie scored both goals in Liverpool's 2-0 Merseyside derby win over Everton.
Austin 'likely to leave QPR'
Football
According to his manager, Chris Ramsey, Charlie Austin is probably on his way out of QPR this summer. He has been linked with moves to Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham and Crystal Palace and Ramsey admits "It's unlikely he'll stay".
He told talkSPORT: "We have to be realistic. We want to keep him but it's unlikely. The club is in a financial position that it needs to recoup some money and I think for his ambitions he wants to keep playing in the Premier League to go to the Euros".
Rangers have already turned down big-money bids and are holding out for more than £15m for the 26-year-old striker.

Carson still wants England shot
Football
Owen Bradley
BBC Radio Derby Sport
Scott Carson has told BBC Radio Derby he's desperate to get back to the Premier League - and maybe the England squad.
Carson, who joined Derby County this summer, is currently in Holland for the Rams pre-season tour.
"I'm only 29 and I feel that I still have a lot to offer," he said. "I want to get back to the Premier League.
"And if you're doing well in the Premier League, you've always got a chance of getting in the England squad."

Aston Villa keen to spend
Football

BBC WM Sport
With the money from Christian Benteke's sale burning a hole in Aston Villa's pocket, speculation is rife over potential transfer targets.
Villa have reportedly (see 09:42 BST) had a bid accepted by French club Lorient for their 23-year-old Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew who scored 12 goals in 29 games last season.
Tim Sherwood has also been linked with Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie as well as a seemingly unlikely interest in bringing back Ashley Young from Manchester United.

He is the third former Wednesday man to join the Millers this pre-season after defenders Lewis Buxton and Joe Mattock.

Football

BBC Radio Stoke understands that Bojan Krkic could make his first appearance for Stoke City since January in Saturday's pre-season friendly at Brentford.
The former Barcelona striker missed the second half of last season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Football
The Lancashire Telegraph are reporting that Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes is "unhappy" that he has been refused permission to speak to Middlesbrough.
The two Championship clubs have held talks this week over a £12m deal, but Blackburn's owners are not keen to sell to a rival.
"I have been advised by the club that they have rejected an offer from Middlesbrough which was in excess of what Blackburn paid for me," said the Scotland striker, whose uncle Steve Agnew is the assistant manager at Middlesbrough.
"I would have liked to have been able to talk to [Middlesbrough] and I am unhappy at not being given that opportunity."

Malaysia XI v Liverpool (13:45)
Pre-season friendly
We've got another pre-season game coming up for you shortly...
'We were a little disjointed'
Manchester City 1-4 Real Madrid
Asked what Manchester City can take from their defeat to Real Madrid goalkeeper Joe Hart replies "not a great deal".
"We didn't play very well," he tells Australian media. "We were a little bit disjointed. We will take loads away from it in that we have plenty to work on.
"It's pre-season at the end of the day, we can't get too wrapped up in the result. Our team is only going to get stronger, we'll get fitter and be ready for the first game of the season."
City kick-off their Premier League campaign on Monday 10 August at West Brom.
'It was an amazing event'
Manchester City 1-4 Real Madrid
Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale talks to the Australian media: "We want to win every game we play, even if it's a friendly. It was an amazing event to be part of in Melbourne and a great to get a win to cap it off. We know we have to win this season. It's all about getting fitness at the moment."
FULL-TIME
Manchester City 1-4 Real Madrid
And so Manchester City will roll on to face Vietnam City on Monday before their final pre-season friendly of the summer against Stuttgart on 1 August.
As we know, they have to up their game this season to win back the title they so covet and they have backed themselves in the transfer market in acquiring Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph - who left the field injured on his debut.
Defensively they were dismantled on one of Australia's most famous venues but with key names missing, perhaps it was not too surprising.
Rafa Benitez has officially won his first trophy as Real Madrid manager - the International Champions Cup. The presentation is to come next but I doubt that silverware alone will prove enough to keep the former Liverpool manager in good favour at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.

Nice and easy

Slow, tepid football at the back from Manchester City as Real Madrid's players sit back in deckchairs with a Pina Colada in hand. Job done.
What have we learned about the Spanish side? The talent pool at their disposal is probably deeper than ever as the introductions of Denis Cheryshev, Casemiro and Danilo showed.
As for their style under Rafa Benitez, no major changes. Lots of quality for all to see and when attacks form they tend to be pretty loaded.

Calm down
Manchester City 1-4 Real Madrid (80 mins)
Never will Manuel Pellegrini be more relaxed about a 4-1 defeat. He looks at ease on his bench. This is a patchwork City side, knitted together with very loose cotton, falling apart as a result under any real strong rip from Real.
Can we read much into it domestically? City certainly don't look too sharp but they may well be in the middle of a big block of training. It's miles in the legs for these players if nothing else.
Change of heart?
Manchester City 1-4 Real Madrid
Ian Cheeseman

Manuel Pellegrini said Edin Dzekowould not play against Real Madrid because of the uncertainty of his future. Yet the Bosnian striker has come on with Gael Clichy and Rony Lopes.
GOAL
Manchester City 1-4 Real Madrid - Denis Cheryshev - (73 mins)
Real Madrid will lift the International Champions Trophy and Denis Cheryshev gets his name on the scoresheet, turning in a simple volley from six yards.
If you've not heard much about this 24-year-old Russian, stay tuned. He was on loan at Villarreal last season and stood out.
SUBSTITUTION
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid (70 mins)
Raheem Sterling was one of those to depart in the last wave of substitutions. His contribution will grab no major headlines but what he offered was pretty solid.
One very eye-catching run in the first half and of course, the touch that won the penalty. His second period saw a run which posed real problems for Sergio Ramos. Far from vintage, far from electric but decent.

Sloppy Ronaldo
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid (65 mins)
Cristiano Ronaldo should be leaving Melbourne with a sack of goals. He races clear - one-on-one with Joe Hart but pokes wide and seconds later misses a point-blank header. Anything on target would have beaten the City keeper.
As we enter the final 30 minutes, the substitutions are flowing and Real will make five. Ronaldo is one of those to depart. Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri also exit for City.
What are City getting from this? As far as friendless go, it's competitive and a good workout physically. This type of contest has to be more worthwhile than the old school away trip to lower-league cannon fodder.

Offside
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid (59 mins)
Isco walks one into the net as Cristiano Ronaldo lays it on a plate but the offside flag is up. Replays show it should have stood and the big screens in the stadium lead to huge howls from the crowd as the decision is shown.
Real have dominated the last 10 minutes, Ronaldo firing over and another slick move yields a corner from which the Portuguese heads over.
At the other end, Raheem Sterling is still carrying some fight and he muscles his way past Sergio Ramos but the cut-back gets intercepted. Could Sterling v Ramos become a Premier League match-up next season? The defender is, of course, linked with a move to Manchester United.
Rain stops play at Chittagong
Cricket
Rain has washed out the fourth day's play in the first Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Chittagong.
South Africa, who made 248 in the first innings, bowled out Bangladesh for 326 and reached 61-0 in their second innings when bad light forced an early stumps on Thursday with 24.5 overs left to be bowled.

HALF-TIME
Manchester City 1-3 Real Madrid
As far as pre-season friendlies in far-flung places go, this one ain't bad, folks. We have goals at least.
Real Madrid undoubtedly have fielded the stronger of the two line-ups and perhaps it's unsurprising they have been ruthless in exposing City's makeshift back four.
City will be frustrated to have lost Fabian Delph to injury but will be encouraged Raheem Sterling continues to make his presence felt so early in his City career.
And Cristiano Ronaldo has scored. So we can relax, football is as it should be.

GOAL
Manchester City 0-2 Real Madrid - Cristiano Ronaldo (25 mins)

Luka Modric has the customary headband on but he has just been well and truly ruffled. Delph wildly hacks at Modric but moments later has needed to call for treatment himself and it does not look good.
Is Delph going to leave the play after less than a quarter of his City debut?
Fearless youth?
Manchester City 0-0 Real Madrid (10 mins)
This is the 16-year-old charged with keeping Real Madrid's stars quiet.

Ready to go...
Manchester City v Real Madrid (Kick off 11:00 BST)
Only a fool goes without their cagoule.
It's bucketing down at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where Manchester City are about to go at it with Real Madrid.
A quick heads up, if City win or the match goes to penalties, they win the International Champions Cup. The only way Real can claim it is with a win inside the 90.
Oh and one to keep an eye on, Manchester City have a 16-year-old at centre-back. Cameron Humphreys will be facing Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Good luck, son...
Broadfoot hit with 10-match ban
Football
As we told you a short while ago (09:21 BST) Rotherham's Kirk Broadfoot will serve a 10-match ban after being charged by the FA with using "abusive and/or insulting" words towards the then Wigan player James McClean.
The former Rangers defender was also fined £7,500 and ordered to complete an education programme.
The Mirror are reporting that the incident involved a "sectarian tirade" against Republic of Ireland international McClean, who has since signed for West Brom.
Tomic refuses to "clear the air"
Tennis
Bernard Tomic, who seems to be attracting a lot of negative press recently - he was dropped from Australia's Davis Cup team and arrested in Miami - does not intend to accept the offer of "clear the air" talks with Tennis Australia until his sister Sara's funding is reinstated.
The 22-year-old, Australia's highest-ranked men's player said he did not believe there was any point in a meeting "until I am satisfied TA is committed to funding the development of junior Australian talent, including my sister Sara, on a non-discriminatory basis".

Golfer sacks caddie mid-round
Golf
Australian golfer Robert Allenby has lost a caddie mid-way through a round for the third time. Which just sounds careless.
The confrontation occurred on the par-five 13th when, on the advice of compatriot Mick Meddlemo, Allenby hit an eight iron into the green but found a creek and eventually made a triple-bogey. "He just lost the plot at me." Allenby said.
Meddlemo had a different version of events. "We had a discussion about a club. I was called a fat so-and-so. I got a little bit peeved by it."
Perez unhurt after crash in Hungary
Formula 1
Quick update on the Hungarian Grand Prix Practice session...
A little earlier, Sergio Perez walked away unhurt after a very dramatic crash where his Force India ended up on it's "roof".
Allan McNish has a little more information for us: "I've seen a replay of the crash and it looks like the right front tyre digs in, which caused it to flip and pitched him to the barrier."

West Brom suspend takeover talks
Football
Pat Murphy
BBC Radio 5 live Midlands football reporter
West Brom majority shareholder Jeremy Peace has ended the period of exclusivity granted to a Chinese consortium because he's not satisfied at the progress of negotiations.
I understand the deal was almost there but Peace felt in the best interests of the club he should stand back.
There are other interested parties but it would take several months now to get close to a deal and Peace feels a period of stability is now necessary and he is happy to continue at the helm.
Ramos under pressure
Football
Friday's edition of Spanish newspaper Marca features Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos and claims Manchester United have asked him to publicly declare he wants to leave the Bernabeu in order to force a move away.
The 29-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, with initial rumours suggesting he would form part of a deal involving United goalkeeper David de Gea.
Marca reports that Ramos has refused the request by United, and is awaiting a meeting with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to decide his future ahead of the new season.
As we've already mentioned, Ramos has been named in the Real Madrid side for the friendly against Manchester City, which starts at 11:00 BST in Melbourne.
Bottas out? Button in?
Formula 1
Williams could replace Valtteri Bottas with former world champion Jenson Button should the Finn sign for Ferrari next season.
Bottas, on whom Williams have a contractual hold, is Ferrari's number one option should they decide not to retain Kimi Raikkonen alongside Sebastian Vettel.
Sources close to the deal say Ferrari and Williams have discussed Bottas's transfer but have no agreement yet.

At the heart of the US investigation is the sale of football marketing and TV rights and what was done with the revenues.

Stripping Russia of World Cup would 'exacerbate Ukraine crisis'
Football
Dan Roan
BBC sports editor
Stripping Russia of the World Cup would cause a "blast" that could exacerbate the Ukraine crisis, a former ambassador to the 2018 hosts has warned.
Fifa's controversial awarding of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments to Russia and Qatar respectively is the subject of twin corruption investigations in the US and Switzerland, leading to speculation there could be a re-vote.

Wenger can buy big - Harris
Football
Arsenal director Lord Harris says manager Arsene Wenger has the financial backing to break the club's transfer record this summer.

"Apart from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he could have any player."

European exit would have been 'embarrassing'
Football
More on West Ham's narrow victory in Europe now and manager Slaven Bilic says being eliminated by Maltese minnows Birkirkara in the Europa League would have been "embarrassing" for the club.
"These things happen in football and it would have been a major blow to be eliminated but we deserved to go through," said the Croat after winning 5-3 on penalties.
Bilic - in charge for the fourth time - feels the result will hold them in good stead for the forthcoming season.
"We didn't sink and to play 120 minutes and be one man down in heat will be good for the boys' confidence in the long term,"
'One in 10 could be doping'
Athletics
A pretty shocking claim from the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) director general David Howman on Friday. He has suggested that one in ten elite athletes could be using performance-enhancing drugs.
But he warns that the number of children doping to reach the elite level is Wada's "biggest concern".
Howman has said sport's increasing profitability had led to young athletes becoming more "vulnerable".

Tour de France - Stage 19
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne - La Toussuire 138km (85.7 miles)
Geraint Thomas
Team Sky's six-time Tour de France rider
Respect the yellow jersey
Tour de France
After Tour De France leader Chris Froome had urine thrown at him during Stage 14 on Saturday, world cycling's governing body and organisers want fans to "respect the yellow jersey" in the Alps.
Team Sky, and Froome in particular, have been accused of doping after an impressive performance in this year's Tour where the 30-year-old holds a lead of three minutes 10 seconds after stage 18.
