All 44 children's centres and seven early intervention hubs were planned to be replaced with eight children and families centres, in a bid to save £8m.

This cash will be spent on:

    • £100,000 - extra services delivered at surviving children and family centres in Oxford (Blackbird Leys) and Banbury
    • £1m - provision of 30 new staff members to identify vulnerable children and act as "community coordinators"
