  2. Listen: Bramley fire update

    Eight teenagers have been arrested following a huge fire in Bramley last night.

    Six boys and two girls, all from the Armley and Bramley areas, are being held on suspicion of arson. 

    Assistant District Commander Toby May told BBC Radio Leeds the building's been left in a very dangerous condition.

  5. Memorial concerct raises more than £3,000 for charity

    A memorial concert for a Leeds man who took his own life when he was just 21-years-old has raised more than £3,500 for charity.

    Friends and family of Ben Williams organised Saturday's gig in memory of the former Ilkley Grammar School pupil. 

    All the money will be donated to the Papyrus charity which aims to prevent suicide among young people.

    A 9-year-old from Chapel Allerton is about to climb the highest mountains in the UK - that's Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Ben Nevis in Scotland. 

    Leon Jones is doing this epic challenge to raise money for a charity close to his heart called Winston's Wish. It's a group which supported him when his dad died in a road accident, when he was just 3-years-old.

  7. Jason Gillespie: Yorkshire coach not interested in Cricket Australia role

    Yorkshire coach Jason Gillespie has confirmed he will not be leaving to take a role with Cricket Australia.

    The 41-year-old Australian has led Yorkshire to back-to-back County Championship titles and had been linked with a position in his home country.

    The former Test bowler revealed he had met with Australia coach Darren Lehman but had not been offered a job.

  11. BreakingBramley fire update: Eight now held as fire destroys industrial unit

    Firefighters have tackled a large blaze at a derelict building on the outskirts of Leeds, in Bramley.

    At its height, 10 engines were sent to the scene on Waterloo Lane in Bramley, at about 20:40 on Monday.

    Eight youths have now been arrested in connection with the incident, West Yorkshire Police said.

    West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was "well under control" but some crews were still at the scene.

  13. Bradford City: Striker Steven Davies released from his contract

    Bradford City have released striker Steven Davies

    Steven Davies

    Davies, 28, joined the Bantams on a one-year deal last summer and scored five goals in 25 league appearances.

    The Bantams have also released defenders Alan Sheehan, 29, and Christopher Routis, 26, with the duo agreeing deals with Luton and Ross County respectively.

    A rather cloudy day across West Yorkshire with outbreaks of rain. The rain spreading to the west throughout the afternoon - with a few very heavy downpours likely later on, which could cause some travel disruption.

    The rain continues this evening on its journey to the west overnight, remaining cloudy and we hang on to those strong northerly winds. Temperature lows tonight of 11C (52F).

  19. Bairstow and Root to play in T20 Blast
