  3. 'No price can buy Stones'

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Roberto Martinez, John Stones

Everton boss Roberto Martinez: "John Stones was an immense influence on what we did defensively. The reading of the game, he looks like a player who has grown in the last few weeks under the pressure and speculation.

"No price can buy him, not now. John is a big part of our plans. He has become a very mature man over the last few weeks. He has never let the team down and today was a real celebration internally. The fans know we have someone very special.

"Every single Evertonian will show that respect to him for the way he has handled the situation. You can see the signs of a future England captain."

    More of that here.

  4. 'I am happy with Kane'

    Tottenham 0-0 Everton

    Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino: "We created a lot of chances but you need to score. It was impossible today but I am happy with the performance.

"I am happy with Harry Kane, he had two or three clear chances but I am happy. He needs to work hard and play.

"A goal will come for Harry. All strikers have spells like this and only time can do it. I trust in him."

Scott Porch:  "Stones will be England's captain in the future, the fact that even if he isn't happy at Everton he is staying professional which shows that no matter what he'll put 100% every game plus potential wise he will be unreal."

    Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester

    Claudio Ranieri

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri, speaking to BBC Sport: "We conceded the goal and until then we were playing well. After the goal we slowed down the tempo and had no great personality.

"There were 10 minutes when Bournemouth played very well. In the second half we put them under pressure and made some good chances. I think at the end we deserved to draw.

"It's important to take one point from a difficult match. We have a week now where the players go to their national team and when they come back we must restart with the same mentality."

  14. 'We should have got three points'

    Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester

    Eddie Howe

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "We were dominant for long periods but I think the injuries were key in the game, particularly in our ability to change tactically.

"They all look nasty and at the moment they are in the treatment room being assessed, although we won't know how serious they are until they get scanned.

"I think we've had a decent enough start in terms of performances. I'm a bit disappointed not to have got more points. I thought we could have got three today, but sometimes you have to be a grateful for a point."

"We tried to open it up a bit by bringing on Rickie Lambert and Callum McManaman.

  41. 'Proud dressing room'

    Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland

Sunderland skipper John O'Shea:  "There's a lot of pride in the dressing room, when you are 2-1 down at half-time in the Premier League and pick up a point you have to be satisfied. But there is some disappointment at how we let Villa back into the game so quickly.

"Villa might think they deserved to win because they were pressing near the end but I think the draw was a fair result."

  42. 'We conceded an easy penalty'

    Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat:  "We had to work very hard to get one point - and I'm pleased with the point. We had no real problem in the beginning when we led 1-0 but then we gave an easy penalty away and that allowed Villa to control the first half. We had some problems with the movement of the Villa front players - they did very well."

  43. 'We have been robbed'

    Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood : "Anyone who watched that game knows that we should have won. We had 22 shots, the keeper has pulled off a 'worldy' save and we should have had a penalty. We have been robbed.

"It definitely should have been a penalty. Younes Kaboul pulls out but there's contact - it is a penalty. My team couldn't have done any more today."

  44. Sherwood injured...

    Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland

Sunderland were so narrow in the first half, Aston Villa right-back Alan Hutton could have done his job from a deckchair. Wing-back Patrick van Aanholt just couldn't get forward down the left.

It hardly got any better in the second half, when their attacks down the left accounted for 15% of their forward play. Something for Dick Advocaat to think about?

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores: "We were prepared for a difficult match and we were there to resist and contain City.

"They have some high quality technical and physical players so it is hard to do that here, but we had the feeling in the first half they had a lot of problems because we defended well and restricted the space very well."

  52. 'Watford defended well'

    Man City 2-0 Watford

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini:  "It was not frustrating in the first half. You can't expect to win the game inside 45 minutes against a team who defends well.

  57. Raheem Sterling - how half-time switch worked

Raheem Sterling in the first half vs Watford

Raheem Sterling operated on the left of Manchester City's trio of attacking midfielders in the first half against Watford (see graphic above showing where he touched the ball).

At half-time, Jesus Navas was taken off and Silva moved from the centre to the right, with Samir Nasri coming on to play on the left and Sterling being pushed up through the middle, where almost all of his touches came after the break (see graphic below showing his touches).

While Watford adjusted, Sterling struck... scoring City's crucial opener after only 88 seconds of the second half.

"We didn't defend moments well at all. We didn't have too many times to defend but when we did it wasn't how we've been. Offensively we weren't creative enough. We need to be much better than that."
