A windy night with a few scattered showers, but these becoming more isolated with clear spells developing. Winds will gradually ease, and it will become cold as temperatures fall to 1C (34F).

Much of Tuesday will be dry with sunny spells, but it will turn cloudier through the afternoon, with the chance of one or two showers, especially towards the evening. 

It will feel chilly in the breze with temperatures peaking at 7C (45F).

Alex Hayden and John Venables moved into their new home two weeks ago, but have been told their estate might be demolished to make way for a new Thames crossing. 

Highways England says this is the start of a consultation and a number of different routes are still being considered for the new crossing.    

Southend United said a scuffle that broke out during the side's derby against Colchester was "completely unacceptable".

A handful of Blues fans spilled onto the pitch towards the end of the match on Saturday, and appeared to throw punches at rival supporters. 

In a statement, Southend said it would take "very strong action" against fans who invade the pitch or attack others. This footage was taken by Colchester United fan Miles Reed, whose team lost the game 3-0.

Southend Hospital's deficit is set to spiral to £17.6m within the next two months, sparking fears some services, like fertility treatment, could be at risk.

An accident involving two lorries and a car is partially blocking the A126 in West Thurrock between Lancaster roundabout and Stoneness roundabout.

More than 100 people who live in south Essex have met to try to find a way of "pushing a new Thames Crossing out of Thurrock".

Many residents have just moved into brand new homes on the estate in Orsett, only to receive letters warning of compulsory purchases by Highways England. 

The residents are aiming to consolidate their efforts into one campaign group to organise fundraising and protests against the move.

A seven-week-old puppy has been stolen in a burglary in Stanford-le-Hope.

Chocolate-and-tan dachshund Ralph was taken from his home in Thors Oak along with a three-figure sum of cash on Saturday morning.

The suspects are three white men aged between 18 and 22.

British Airways planes have been diverted to Southend Airport as strong winds caused by Storm Imogen hit Essex.

The QE2 Bridge is likely to stay closed for the rest of the afternoon because of high winds, Highways England said.

Drivers going from Essex to Kent are being diverted through the Dartford Tunnel, causing long queues.

Elsewhere, a flood alert has been issued for the Suffolk and Essex coast from Felixstowe to Clacton, where the Environment Agency says flooding is possible.

The Football Association says it will be contacting both Southend United and Colchester United following crowd trouble that marred the Essex derby.

A mystery toy fan recreated a giant teddy bear's picnic in The Willows by scattering hundreds of soft toys on people's cars, gardens and windowsills.

Essex PCSO Matthew Grimwood has tweeted this photo of a fallen tree in Weald Road, Brentwood.

He said two "top guys" had stopped to help move the tree, which is no longer blocking the road at the junction with Weald Park Way.

Elsewhere in Essex, effects of Storm Imogen include the closure of the QE2 bridge on the clockwise M25.

You might remember a couple of weeks ago we told you about an off-duty police officer whose shopping was stolen while he was chasing a supermarket thief in South Woodham Ferrers.

Well, turns out one kind-hearted woman who read the story decided to put things right and sent a postal order to the officer, PC Graham Thomas, to cover the cost of his shopping.

PC Thomas - who was reimbursed by Asda for his stolen goods - is planning on writing a thank you letter and returning the postal order to the lady, who is from Margate in Kent.

A Basildon detective says cannabis-growing is no more of a problem in Essex than in the rest of the country.

A long-term cannabis addict who was convicted of selling the drug told BBC Essex the plant is grown on every street in Southend.

Det Supt Stuart Hooper, Basildon district commander, said the force was taking action and had arrested someone overnight in Southend after getting "information to suggest there was a cannabis factory there".

John, who did not want to give his surname, is warning others to stay clear of the drug which he says destroys lives.  

"You can't walk down the road without walking through that smell. It's everywhere, I smell it all over the place," he told me. We'll tell you what Essex Police had to say about the matter shortly.

Southend United are assessing an injury to their midfielder Ryan Leonard. 

He was forced off at half time in the Essex derby, which his team won 3-0, and left Roots Hall on crutches.
