I'll be back from 07:00 on Friday with more news, sport, travel and weather updates from around the county.
Let's finish today by continuing our east coast seafaring theme, with this great pic from BBC Weather Watcher Filey Pete.
Pete has snapped a dramatic and surprisingly blue-skied pic of Scarborough Castle across a rough Cayton Bay.

A life on the ocean wave: Scarborough Yacht Race competitors ready to hoist sail and head for Holland
Joanita Musisi
Reporter, BBC Radio York
In just a few weeks, yachts will be jostling for position in Scarborough preparing to set off on a 200-mile race across the North Sea to Holland.
I've been to Vincent Pier in Scarborough today where I met one of those taking part - Pete McIntyre from Scarborough Yacht Club.
BBCCopyright: BBC
Pete told me one of the hardest aspects of the race is negotiating all the obstacles.
Quote Message: Look out to sea from shore and you see no obstacles, but once you're out there you've countless oil rigs to negotiate around. There are windfarms to avoid and the weather can be gale force conditions. It's a really hard race!" from Pete McIntyre Scarborough Yacht Club

Scarborough Yacht Club's North Sea race looks set to break all records, with over 100 crew members taking part on yachts from as far afield as Switzerland, Norway and Holland.
Fashion on trend at 158th Great Yorkshire Show

It may have started life more than four decades ago as a simple idea to showcase British wool, but the fashion shows at the Great Yorkshire Show now have extensive appeal.

Plastic notes bring whole new meaning to 'money laundering'
Jonathan Cowap
Presenter, BBC Radio York
A little earlier on BBC Radio York, I spoke to coin and banknote expert Paul Woollons.
Normally when Paul appears on the show he talks about antique bank notes and coins, but today he brought in a revolutionary first: an example of the polymer notes already in use in Scotland, which will be issued in England in September.
No need to worry about a fiver in your pocket going through the wash anymore!

While Paul was in, he also looked at this rare "Bradbury" ten shilling note sent in by a listener.
It's worth checking your pockets, apparently it's worth about £250...

York's new Lord Mayor on his punk past, cycle rickshaws and why he loves his new role
The Press
York has its first ever Green Lord Mayor. So that must mean the shiny Mayoral limo - registration number DN1 - will be mothballed for a year?
However, those hoping he might be just that little bit different won't be entirely disappointed - as you'd expect from a man once a punk bassist and who isn't above dressing as a Goth.

Drivers are being warned to expect months of delays around Selby as the next phase of roadworks starts at the end of June.

Customers 'battered' into submission as thespians dance all over the 'plaice' at York chip shop
Andrew Barton
BBC Local Live, York
Customers in a York fish and chip shop might have wondered what exactly was going on last night when they sat down to eat, as the shop's owner and a rap-loving teenager pranced and danced between the tables, shouting and singing at each other.
Hopefully, before diners stormed out in a bewildered huff, they'll have realised the truth: the raucous chip shop shenanigans are all part of a new musical play.
The play's protagonists shout, argue, sing and rap at each other, while parading among an audience still seated at their tables.
Dave Richards owns and runs Wackers Restaurant on Gillygate where the show is being performed, and he says it's taken quite a bit of organisation to make it work:
Quote Message: It's been difficult because we're quite limited with space here, but it's been a nice thing to do, especially for York. It's an honour to have been asked really." from Dave Richards Wackers Restaurant owner

However, those hoping he might be just that little bit different won't be entirely disappointed - as you'd expect from a man once a punk bassist and who isn't above dressing as a Goth.
