As it stands USA will play Germany in the semi-finals on Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

That is of course unless China can get an equaliser in the next 10 minutes.

Lisis Wang has a go with a long rage free-kick but it is easy catching practice for Hope Solo.

Ali Krieger's long range effort rattles the woodwork, the ball falls to Carli Lloyd but the USA captain is in an off-side position.

China just edging possession for the first time in the match but they still look unlikely of grabbing an equaliser. Just over 20 minutes left.

Jun Ma heads away Amy Rodriguez's goal bound shot before China try and attack on the break as they look for an equaliser but USA are quick to get back.

Kelley O'Hara has been in the wars after she is caught by Fei Wang and left with a bleeding nose.

Amy Rodriguez has a great opportunity to put the USA in front in the first minute of the second-half but her left foot shot from the edge of the area is well wide.

Andrew: USA are almost pushing too hard, and need to be more clinical. China defended excellently, if they can counter quickly they could just nick a goal.

Considering their dominance the USA should really be in front but China are hanging on in there.

Lisi Wang has China's fourth shot of the match but that too is off target before Alex Morgan has her shot blocked.

Half-time at Lansdowne Stadium and the busiest player on the pitch is goalkeeper Fei Wang, who has now recovered from her earlier injury.

USA's dominance is highlighted by the average positions of their players which shows eight outfield players have based themselves firmly in China's half.

USA have had 10 shots to China's three, but two of those were blocked and the other was blazed over the bar.

The Americans have completely dominated the first-half here in Ottawa.

USA Captain Carli Lloyd fires in a fantastic free-kick but Fei Wang manages to punch the shot away and seems to injure herself in the process.

Julie Johnstone then connects well with a corner but her header flashes over the bar.

Wang makes a mess of dealing with Ali Krieger's cross and the ball falls to Julie Johnston who pokes the ball towards goal but it is cleared by Jianhi Lou.

The winner of this match will play two-time World Cup winners Germany in the semi-final, who beat France 5-4 on penalties in the earlier match.

Alex Morgan has a chance from the centre of the box but her tame shot is straight at Fei Wang.

Tobin Heath then crosses for Kelly O'Hara but her diving header is wide.

But there is hope for China.

The USA are without the suspended midfield duo of Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday.

Looking at their stats, it is a big loss for the USA.

• The pair have combined to create 18 chances, only one fewer than the rest of their teammates combined.
• Holiday's 293 touches and Rapinoe's 258 are the highest among their teammates.
• Rapinoe has scored two goals so far, with one assist.
