Euro 2016: Spain 3-0 Turkey - reaction

Italy, France, Spain.

The last 16 is slowly beginning to take shape and it's the usual suspects who are heading the queue. 

Turkey haven’t kept a clean sheet at the Euros since a 2-0 win over Belgium at Euro 2000 – they’ve conceded 15 goals in eight games since then.

Spain are unbeaten in 14 games at the Euros (W11 D3), and haven’t conceded a goal in 690 minutes of action.

That result means that Turkey will need to beat the Czech Republic in their final game to have a chance of staying in the competition. There is a chance that Spain could end up playing Republic of Ireland in the next round. That could be fun.

The last player to score against Spain in the Euros was Antonio di Natale. And that was in the opening game of 2012.

Very, very good from Spain. With Morata in scoring form on top of everything else, they're tournament favourites for me now.

That win, of course, ensures that Spain are through to the final 16. A few flares and firecrackers go off inside the stadium but there's no trouble in the stands.

CHANCE FOR TURKEY! Sub Olcay Sahan suddenly sees the centre of the pitch open up for him, he shoots but it's tame and easy for Cesar Azpilicueta to block. It drops again for Olcay but he shanks a shot wide. 

Right - into the last five minutes. This is where the goals happen in this tournament.

This is going to take us to 'Spain will win the Euros' with the press back home. Turkey are not disciplined and are making us look very good. Against the Czech Republic we didn't create that much. We weren't as fluid as we have been against Turkey. 

When I mentioned earlier that I can find Spain boring? That. They are just seeing the game out. Game management.

Jordi Alba, part man part racehorse - steady - is off now as Cesar Azpilicueta gets a 10-minute runout. 

The really worrying thing for the other teams in the tournament is that Spain only engaged the clutch and moved out of second gear for 10, maybe 15 minutes of this game. When they hit third and above nobody can live with them. 

Apparently David de Gea hasn't conceded a goal for Spain yet in a competitive game - this is his 11th cap.
