A teenager has been charged with the murder of a 27-year-old man in an east London park.

The victim, who has not been named, was found stabbed in Plaistow Park, Newham, on 29 January.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but died of his injuries three days later.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was stab wounds to the abdomen.

Detectives investigating the killing have charged Kaleb Amponsah, 18, of Canning Town, east London, with murder.

He will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Two 16-year-old boys were also arrested in connection with the incident.

They were later released on bail until a date in mid-April while detectives continue their inquires.

The victim's next of kin were informed and formal identification completed, but police withheld the victim's name at his family's request.
