  3. Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley now has a famous friend

    Daisy Ridley

British actress Daisy Ridley, who presented the Oscar for best documentary feature, may star in the biggest film of all time at the UK box office - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - but she revealed she is also just a fan at heart.

"I just met Brie Larson and she's won an Oscar, so now I'm friends with an Oscar-winner," she cheerfully told the BBC.

  4. Napes and Smith: Win was 'dream come true'

    Jimmy Napes and Sam Smith

Sam Smith and partner Jimmy Napes now join Adele as writers of the only other James Bond theme to win an Oscar for Writing's on the Wall from Spectre.

On the carpet at the Vanity Fair party, Napes said: "We genuinely were really surprised and delighted, it's a dream come true."

Smith, who dedicated his win to the LGBT community around the world said: "I genuinely didn't think we would it but [the dedication] was something that I planned in my head, we're in shock. The whole thing's just amazing.

"We're going to retire - no more music. I've never felt like that in my whole life, overwhelmed, happy, it was amazing."

But he added his live performance of the song was "the worst moment of my life, singing was horrible, I was so nervous, I hated it".

  5. Baron Cohen: Diversity has to be 'on all levels'

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher

Sacha Baron Cohen has added his thoughts to the Oscars diversity debate.

He appeared on stage at the event, dressed as his alter-ego Ali G who was representing "the black bloke from Star Wars... Darth Vader".

But how did he feel the evening had dealt with the issue?

Quote Message: I think ad nauseum, I think everyone is bored of it. I think Chris [Rock] dealt with it pretty well. There's a bigger issue that there has to be more diversity on all levels in Hollywood.
Quote Message: I think there will be some token changes, the academy will bring in some more black voters and some more roles will be given to black actors but more has to change.
  6. Whoopi: 'Chris Rock wasn't fake'

Whoopi Goldberg has been talking on her way into the Vanity Fair party and gave the BBC her thoughts on how the issue of diversity was tackled by the host Chris Rock.

    Whoopi Goldberg
Quote Message: When you hire Chris Rock, whatever is happening in the zeitgeist will come through. He didn't pull punches and I loved that. I love that he wasn't fake.
  7. 'He did it! He really did it!'

Leonardo DiCaprio was a popular winner among his fellow celebrities.

  9. A lot of Girl Scout cookies were sold at the Oscars

    Chris Rock

That's a lot of cookies. Unless they were just really, really expensive.
