AFC Wimbledon suffer Plough Lane stadium setback

AFC Wimbledon's plans to build a new stadium have suffered a setback after the Mayor of London Boris Johnson said his office would decide whether they went ahead.

Merton Council approved an application to develop the Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium site in Plough Lane in December last year, but several parties have objected.

A new consultation will take place, with a final decision due later this year.

BBC London's Sara Orchard speaks to councillor Stephen Alambritis, the leader of Merton Council, stock car driver Peter Gray and Dons fan Paul Raymond about the decision.
