Hosted by Katherine Ryan, ten hair enthusiasts hope they have what it takes to win the title of Britain's best amateur hairstylist. And to do that, they'll have to impress the judges - royal hairdresser Denise McAdam and celebrity superstar stylist Alain Pichon, who counts David Beckham as one of his clients.

In the freestyle challenge, the ten hopefuls will have to design a hairstyle to fit the theme of architecture. 33-year-old Phil gave up a long career in shoe retail to pursue his dream of becoming a professional hairdresser and he's hoping his take on London's newest skyscraper will impress the Judges. 31-year-old single dad Daniel and 58-year-old retired teacher Lesley have both set their sights on Beijing's birds nest Olympic stadium - will either win the gold from Denise and Alain?

What the contestants don't know is that the five who fail to impress in the freestyle will find themselves in the eliminator - a short sharp test of their nerve and hairstyling know-how. They will have to pull off a sleek ponytail, the hair equivalent of boiling the perfect egg.

Who will impress the judges, and whose time in the competition is over for good?
