Should India release juvenile convicted of gang rape?

A gang rape in 2012 in India turned a global spotlight on the treatment of women in the country. Jyoti Singh, a student, was brutally raped on a bus in the capital Delhi three years ago. She later died of her injuries.

Yesterday one of those convicted for the deadly assault was released from prison. He was seventeen at the time of the attack and was freed after serving a maximum sentence for a juvenile. Arulmozhi is a senior lawyer and women's activist and believes the punishment was inadequate.
