  1. So long, farewell...

    Sarah Jane Griffiths

    Entertainment reporter

That's it from us for today but, if you're not still reeling from the shock of Matisse the dog's stunt double, we'll be back tomorrow with more news from the world of entertainment, arts and culture.

In case you missed any of today's stories, you can scroll down for the Critics' Choice Award winners, new pictures of the Clangers, Shia Lebeouf's motivational pep talk and insights into Christian Grey's mind.

  2. BGT's secret stunt dog

Dancing dog Matisse might have been crowned the Britain's Got Talent winner, but it turns out it was actually a stunt dog who performed the tight-rope trick.

Owner and trainer Jules O'Dwyer admitted it was her other (almost identical) dog, Chase, who took on the high-wire part of the cops and robbers routine.

She told Lorraine on ITV: "Matisse is a little bit afraid of heights so although he could officially do it, Chase is the action dog, so he plays the double for him."

Lots of people weren't happy at the revelation on Twitter though:

  3. Jessica Chastain is NOT Bryce Dallas Howard

It would seem the internet (and possibly the world) has had difficulty telling apart Hollywood actresses Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Now Jessica Chastain has taken to Twitter to address the issue herself.

    So there you have it.

  4. Elvis' Pink wheels

    Elvis Pink Cadillac

Elvis Presley's Pink Cadillac is the latest item of memorabilia being shipped over from Graceland for the Elvis at the O2 exhibition in London.

It's the first time the car, which will arrive on 17 June, has been displayed outside of the Memphis museum in the grounds of the singer's former home.

Organisers have also just announced the exhibition will be staying open until 10 January 2016, instead of closing at the end of August.

  5. Michael Palin 'offered space series'

    Mark Savage

    Entertainment reporter

    Michael Palin

While talking to Michael Palin about the new series of The Clangers, I jokingly asked if he fancied filming a travel documentary on the moon.

"Actually, after I'd done my last travel series, they did say 'for the next one you should go out into space'," he told me.

"I think they just wanted to get rid of me."

The Monty Python star added he'd been offered a seat on the first commercial space flight.

"And I said, 'you must be joking. I'll do the 101st one'. I'm not that interested in space travel - I like having my feet on terra firma, really. For others, not me."

  6. Banksy under the hammer (again)

    Banksy artwork

An early Banksy work painted on the side of a trailer at the Glastonbury Festival in 1998 is expected to fetch more than £300,000 when it goes under the hammer in Paris later.

Silent Majority shows soldier-like figures landing on a beach with a speaker in an inflatable raft, which "depicts the rave and hip hop scene of the time".

The current owner of the work said Banksy approached him before he rose to fame to ask if he could use it as a canvas for a piece commissioned by the festival.

  8. Tracy Morgan breaks silence on crash

    Tracy Morgan

Actor Tracy Morgan has been talking about the limo crash that left him in a coma last year, in his first public appearance since the accident.

The 30 Rock star told the Today show in the US he remembers nothing about the crash and still has bad days as well as good.

He also paid an emotional tribute to fellow comedian James McNair, known as Jimmy Mach, who died in the accident.

"Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal," said Morgan, who added he "lost it for about a week" after watching footage of McNair's funeral on YouTube.

Last week he settled a lawsuit with Wal-Mart, who owned the truck that slammed into the back of the limo van on the New Jersey Turnpike.

  9. Sleepless nights

Carsten Holler: Two Roaming Beds (Grey)

For anyone who's ever got fed up craning to see the artworks at an overcrowded exhibition, the Hayward Gallery could have the answer.

They're giving visitors the chance to spend the night in a pair of robotic beds that roam the gallery out of hours, as part of the Carsten Holler: Decision exhibition which opens next week.

An evening in Two Roaming Beds (Grey) doesn't come cheap at £300, but guests will get the chance to immerse themselves in the show's experimental environments while travelling in slow motion (0.7 metres a minute).

Highlights include lifting off over the sculpture terrace on Two Flying Machines, experiencing the world through Upside Down Goggles and taking a ride on one of the Isomeric Slides down the side of the building.

  10. Fifty Shades: Christian's story

    Fifty Shades of Grey film

Ever wondered what Christian Grey was thinking? Or what he sees in his Fifty Shades' love interest Anastasia Steele? Well, author EL James has announced her next book will reveal just that.

Forthcoming novel Grey will tell the same story as its best-selling predecessor, but this time through the eyes of her male protagonist.

"Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past," said James.

"Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story."

Grey will be published on 18 June, a date Fifty Shades megafans may recognise as Christian's birthday.

  12. Guest hosts for Top Gear?

    The Independent

Jeremy Clarkson on Have I Got News For You

Top Gear could return in a similar format to Have I Got News For You, with a different presenter each week, according to a BBC insider.

The source told The Independent: "The masterplan is to reconfigure the show along the lines of the post-Angus Deayton Have I Got News for You?, with a different guest hosting each episode."

The BBC declined to renew Clarkson's contract in March after the presenter punched a Top Gear producer on set, following a row about the lack of hot food on offer.

The untitled show is one of two new "thought-provoking, hard-hitting documentaries" announced by the channel's new controller Damian Kavanagh.

Professor Green, otherwise known as Stephen Manderson, said: "The truth is, suicide is still considered a taboo subject but it shouldn't be.

"Not only is this a deeply personal journey for me but also I've been fortunate to meet some amazing people along the way with their own incredibly moving stories as well as those who are creating public awareness around the topic of suicide."

BBC Three has also commissioned Murdered By My Father, the story of the "honour" killing of a 16-year-old girl by her father.

We spoke to Michael Palin, who narrates the new series, who said the job was a "Zen-like experience".

  20. Stuck in a comedy rut

    Vince Vaughn

Hollywood star Vince Vaughn has admitted he got stuck making "assembly-line comedies".

The star told GQ: "The machine can make you idle. You read a script and then you agree to a role, then soon enough you're on set looking at a scene that has had all the juice and the life sucked right out of it.

"You become a hired gun doing a very inoffensive PG-13 movie and, well, you kind of just go along with it."

The actor - who is soon to appear in the second series of gritty drama True Detective - also spoke of his support to own a gun, adding he believed guns should be allowed in US schools.

"Banning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat. Taking away guns, taking away drugs, the booze, it won't rid the world of criminality," he said.
