There will be little let-up in the rain across Shropshire and it will continue into tomorrow morning.

It’s already got its own Bullring – and now a Shropshire town is looking to replicate Birmingham by having its own bull.

A road sign has been found by police dumped in Edmond, near Newport, "a long way from home".

They say they will be taking it in to the local highways depot.

We reckon it was taken from near the village of Alberbury, about 30 miles away.

Junior Brown and Jermaine Grandison are both definitely out.

The MP for the Wrekin, Mark Pritchard, has got involved in the debate over the well-being of animals being kept by Peter Jolly's circus near Craven Arms.

A campaign group says it has footage showing "the animals' welfare is compromised" by their living conditions and it has passed the film on to Defra.

Mr Pritchard, who has campaigned about the conditions of circus animals in the past, says Peter Jolly's Circus has "questions to answer".

He says there are also wider issues about the place of wild animals in circuses in the 21st Century.

Peter Jolly's Circus says it has passed all Defra inspections and that the footage was filmed unlawfully.

This summer's Newport Show will feature dancing sheep and racing terriers, the organisers have announced this afternoon.

The Sheep Show is led by experts from New Zealand, who show off a range of breeds, explain how shearing is done and get the animals to do the "sheep shuffle".

And we are told Cyril the Squirrel (a stuffed toy - not a live squirrel) and his Racing Terriers will entertain the crowds with their fearless stunts including the ultimate Ring of Fire challenge.

Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain will also be appearing, as part of a Festival of Food.

Hopes that Ludlow town centre could get its own free internet wi-fi have been dashed.

Engineers from Network Rail have now been able to fit a new barrier at Onibury, to replace the one damaged by a lorry earlier.

The line is now open and services are getting back to normal, but Network Rail says the barriers will still need to be tested.

Home Office figures show they were drawn more than 10,300 times in all last year, but only discharged on 1,900 occasions.

There are delays of up to 30 minutes on trains between Shrewsbury and Hereford after a lorry hit a barrier at Onibury.

The line has now been reopened, but delays could last until 17:00.

Arriva Trains Wales say services through south Shropshire could be delayed until 16:00 because a lorry has hit a level crossing barrier at Onibury.

It happened at 13:40 and there is no news on anyone being hurt.

So on 28 April, Twitter rejoices in the madness and celebrates Ed Balls.

At the time of writing, the hashtag #EdBallsDay has been the top trend in the UK and has been used more than 10,000 times.

The recent sacking of Peterborough's manager will be part of Shrewsbury Town's planning for Saturday's final home match of the season.
