  1. That's it from us...

It has been an emotional night - for us, for the Denver Broncos, for the Carolina Panthers and for Coldplay's roadies. It was a tense defensive battle in the end and Cam Newton couldn't quite make it happen for Carolina. I'm running out of caffeine fast now so it's time to say goodbye until next season. Who will win Super Bowl 51?

  2. Poor Cam

Cam Newton didn't have a game to remember... Maybe next time.

  4. Von Miller - Most Valuable Player

    Von Miller celebrates

Von Miller, Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl 50: "I'm so proud of my guys. They kept pushing me. I'm very appreciative of them. I'm happy for Bronco Nation - we will celebrate this all summer."

  5. Manning to retire?

    Peyton Manning is interviewed

Peyton Manning: "It's been an emotional week for everyone. This has been a tough, resilient and unselfish bunch of guys. I'm honoured and grateful to be a part of it.

"This has been a very emotional week and emotional night. I want to go and kiss my wife and kiss my kids. I'm going to drink a lot of beer tonight. I'll take some time to reflect on retirement."

  6. Ceremony

The NFL Lombardi trophy is now on the way to the Denver Broncos. It's all getting very exciting. It looks so shiny.

Cam Newton and Payton Manning chat

Gillian Lathan: The best team won, congratulations Denver!

Andrew Priestley: What a fantastic Superbowl. The best, most competitive and most captivating one in years! The defence was incredible.

  9. Full-time

    Carolina Panthers 10-24 Denver Broncos

    Aqib Talib celebrates

They've done it! A fantastic defensive performance wins it.

  10. Post update

    Carolina Panthers 10-24 Denver Broncos

Denver run down the clock and Carolina can do nothing with no timeouts. Josh Norman of the Carolina Panthers congratulates Manning as he leaves the field - probably for the last time as an NFL player. Not long left now.

  11. Two minutes left

Anderson starts with a run for Denver which makes no gain. Could this be the last two minutes that we see Peyton Manning on an American football field? He's going to go out in style here.

  12. Post update

    Mike Carlson

    NFL analyst

"Carolina scored 580 points in the season and the play-offs! They've scored 10 tonight."

  14. Sack

    Carolina Panthers 10-24 Denver Broncos

DeMarcus Ware makes the seventh sack by the Broncos defence today on Cam Newton. He's going to hurt in the morning! It is followed up by another great play and the Panthers are back on fourth down. Game over, surely?

  15. Two-point conversion

    Carolina Panthers 10-24 Denver Broncos

    Peyton Manning celebrates

It's looking more likely that the AFC champions are going to seal the deal here as wide receiver Bennie Fowler catches an easy one from the legendary Peyton Manning. The Manning family rejoice in their box!

  16. Touchdown

    Carolina Panthers 10-22 Denver Broncos

    C.J. Anderson celebrates

CJ Anderson drives forward and spins to score what could be a crucial touchdown. The play survives a review. Denver set to go for a two-point conversion now.

  17. Flag

Big holding call against Carolina - Denver inching towards a touchdown here.

  18. Fumble

    Carolina Panthers 10-16 Denver Broncos

    Cam Newton fumbles

Huge recovery by TJ Ward after Von Miller sacked Cam Newton and he fumbles it. Shocker! What a play! Sensational stuff in California.

  19. Post update

    Carolina Panthers 10-16 Denver Broncos

Denver run down a big chunk of the clock after three pretty weak running plays that have little effect. Another drive, another three-and-out. Under five minutes left - surely Carolina will get a first down?

  20. Post update

    Carolina Panthers 10-16 Denver Broncos

No progress by Carolina on a third down and Denver's defence is on top yet again! This is a real defence fest of a Super Bowl! Norwood gets the ball back for Denver after the fourth-down punt and Manning returns to the field.
