Why are airlines facing a pilot shortage?

A pilot shortage is wreaking havoc on airlines across the world. That's according to the aviation industry. So what's behind this shortfall? BBC Newsday's Alan Kasujja spoke to Dan Akins, a US based aviation consultant with Flightpath Economics.
