Watch: Fly-tipping cost councils in West Yorkshire more than £1.7m in 2015
BBC Look North, Yorkshire
Fly-tipping cost councils in Yorkshire more than £3m last year.
Most of the money was spent here in West Yorkshire, where it cost councils more than £1.7m.
Now Bradford Council has installed hidden cameras to trap illegal tippers in the act.
The covert CCTV cameras have been set up in rural areas across Bradford.
BBC Look North's Abi Jaiyola has been finding out more:
"The multi Bafta award-winning writer, director, actor and comedian died peacefully at her north London home with family this morning," her publicist Neil Reading said.
Wood found fame in the 1980s with her TV series Victoria Wood As Seen On TV and was awarded a CBE in 2008.
Five CCTV cameras have been set up in rural areas across the city.
Government figures show there were 29,253 fly-tipping incidents in West Yorkshire alone last year, costing councils a total of £1.7m to clear.
Bradford Council says the aim is to provide evidence for the courts.
As you can see in the video below, one camera caught the moment an illegal fly-tipper got more than he bargained for when he tried to set fire to a pile of rubbish dumped in Bradford.

The retired British-American Nasa astronaut has flown six Space Shuttle missions, lived and worked aboard two space stations and spent nearly 400 days in space.
But he's come back to Earth in Chapeltown to talk to science students at the Khalsa Science Academy.
He told me that speaking to young people about space is wonderful: "When I saw how excited and thrilled children are to be hearing about it, I thought, 'That's where I'm going to get all my fun'. Coming to schools is where you get re-enlivened."
Officers were contacted by the ambulance service at about 20:25 after being called to Aireborough Leisure Centre where the victim had gone for help after being stabbed in a nearby park.
Det Insp Paul Hobson says he believes it may have been a "targeted" attack:

Bradford judge spares girl jail for stabbing abuser
A judge has spared a teenage girl who stabbed the man who sexually abused her as a child from a prison sentence.
The 15-year-old had admitted attacking Zadhullah Boota, who was given a community order in 2010 after he was convicted of sexually assaulting her.
Bradford Crown Court heard she "snapped" after he was not imprisoned.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC (pictured) said jailing her would be "callous and cruel" and it was clear the attack had been motivated by the abuse.
Sentencing the girl to a two-year youth rehabilitation order, he said he believed Boota had been dealt with "somewhat leniently".

"It's the highest honour we can give. There is an argument to say we should have done it before and I take responsibility for that," Hearn told a media conference.
