The body of a man has been found on one of Cardiff's busiest roads, police have confirmed.

The man fell from the flyover at Gabalfa roundabout, South Wales Police said.

A section of the A48 Western Avenue was closed as officers investigated but has now reopened.

The dead man was wearing a cream jumper, red T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes and fell between 04:00 BST and 05:00 on Monday.

Police believe he may have walked up Western Avenue from the general direction of Llandaff.

There were traffic queues of up to four miles during the morning rush hour.
